I rarely post recommendations, but this warrants an exception. This is "Human Raised," a new book by my colleague and ETCH advisor Dr. Dana Suskind, a NYT best-selling author, surgeon, professor, and expert in childhood development at Univ of Chicago.

Exciting busy day today. Visited my old friend, and one of the best tech journalists in the business, Kashmir Hill at NY Times. Took a photo of an amazing piece of history in NYT’s museum, the letter greenlighting the NYT crossword puzzle in 1941! Headed to give a keynote at ArtLaw conference now.

For better or (mostly) for worse, 2025 is almost over. For all the human creatives out there, artists, writers, musicians, dancers, choreographers, and so many more, thank you for your perseverance and courage. Happy to announce: ETCH (Ethnical Technology and Computing for Humanity), a nonprofit.

Karla said it so well. I (Ben) was thrilled to testify on the technical side, demonstrating with algorithms, real code and benchmarks on why data privacy is possible at scale. Sharing that room with Danny Lin, Jason George, and so so many talented and skilled creatives was a genuine honor.

The wording was a little confusing in Jingna’s post. When I pointed it out to her, she was more than happy to clarify. This is a screenshot I just took right now of her post after the edit.

Hey all. Just recovered from a nasty flu that lasted nearly a week. Going to swing by ECCC25 later today and all weekend. If any of you artists are at ECCC25, hope to see you in artist alley. Will bring webglaze invites.

I was humbled and honored to accept the Community Impact Award from the CAA on behalf of the Glaze/Nightshade team. It was the best possible acknowledgement from the community we care about so much, and is more meaningful than any other award we've received. All made possible by our artist friends.

Hi all! First, post, I'll just note that we put up a new page explaining how to manage intensity values for glaze/webglaze so you get the sweet spot to achieve both strong protection and barely visible glaze effects. Detailed info: glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/intensity.html
