The chucklehead announcer was talking about how he hates penalties, and my thought was "If you hate penalties, maybe try not committing them?"

What I hate about what's happening is that trying to explain what's actually happening makes me sound like a conspiracy crackpot. I think it's part of how they're getting away with all that.

I think vectors as a math thing start to make more sense after linear algebra. The way physicists and engineers think about it is different once again. Side note - I can think of four different ways to multiply ordered pairs of numbers, and the most intuitive way is the one that's never used.

My favorite two lines in this. The first uses dot products to find the component of v in the direction of a, the second simply reuses the first, but uses the perpendicular of a instead. It was one of those "I wonder if this will work right" things, and it totally did. Thanks #Desmos.
Screenshot of Desmos equations. The first on assigns v_x to function Vec of a dot v over a dot a times a, plus O. The second assigns v_y to v_x with a=p of a.

Watching the full game replay of the Thursday night game on #NFL+, and it's just all the left over clippings from the condensed game. The only plays you see are those from instant replay. I don't even think you can even blame AI for this enshitification.

I feel like wizard vans have been replaced by advertising wraps - everyone is trying to get a side hustle. I'm also afraid that if it made a comeback, I'd see way too many slop wizards. Man, I must be in a mood tonight.

I've recently noted that a lot of my students are concerned about points, what might get marked down, or what they will get credit for. So much of our language in education is about the scoring system, and not mastery or proficiency. So, time to change my language (and thinking) again. #Edosky

A couple of years back, both my spouse and I decided to start degendering our language. It was less about making some point, and more about changing our thinking about our instead assumptions of gender. (I promise this is going somewhere #eduSky) (+)

The thing is, as dangerous and horrible as LLMs are, the stuff they're fear mongering about is a big nothing burger. The AI gets out because they give it permission to. It breaks into things because that's how they trained and promoted it. They need a scape goat for their own actions.

Paired images: I was having trouble drawing a leaping dog for this diagram, so I improvised.
A diagram for a projectile motion problem based on dock jumping competitions. The place where a dog would be drawn is holding a phone displaying a stretched out dog. A horribly cute brindle American bulldog lying on the floor in a sploot pose, intently focused on something in front of her.

The image is in profile.

Didn't mean to terrify you. The ice is great, though.

I don't know where the story would go, because the whole thing feels like it dealt with everything that needed to be dealt with. But, I also love the characters and world so much that, should it happen, I would preorder the second I had a chance.
