Thank you to everyone who came out last night to our monthly social I was impressed by some of our members who made New Liberal bracelets! I personally took a "Neoliberal" one, I love being a contrarian. If you want one and to hang with the community, hopefully we'll see you next month!

We ended the year off with our failed Gingerbread condo. Was a lot more fun than we expected! Thanks you for all of the support this year, and we're excited for what's to come in 2025! (Perhaps Trudeau will give us some opportunities here!) x.com/TONewLibs/st...

Continuing our support of the @OntLiberal's, we hosted a Hospitality Suite at the Policy AGM. It was a huge hit, and we were so lucky to be there and see how excited everyone was about housing. x.com/TONewLibs/st...

What started as a fun holiday activity became a perfect metaphor for the values we New Liberals preach. Markets, competition, and organic growth beat central planning every time. Even in gingerbread (or graham crackers)! 9/9

And unlike our uniform public housing block, each builder brought their own creative vision. This gave us beautiful buildings in unique styles. Markets don't just deliver quantity - they deliver variety, meeting diverse consumer preferences. 8/9

110

Toronto New Liberals 🌐 @tonewlibs.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

We then (literally) reached new heights, as one tall tower inspired others. Competition drove innovation, and 2 buildings combined to compete with the super tall. Free markets achieved what central planning could not! It not only achieved new heights, but also much laughter. 7/9

Toronto New Liberals 🌐 @tonewlibs.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

We aligned with those with a similar vision to us, and learned new building techniques from the failures of others. Organic growth >>> central planning 6/9

Toronto New Liberals 🌐 @tonewlibs.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

Once we accepted the failure of, and gave up on, our publicly built massive condo, we then naturally transitioned to market-driven development. Everyone naturally found their niche, and we ended up with a blend of missing middle housing, from multiplexes to small apartments. 5/9

110

Toronto New Liberals 🌐 @tonewlibs.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

Like many government projects, our centrally planned super-tower suffered from coordination problems, cost overruns, and ultimately collapse. Even with lengthy consultation, our public builder couldn’t create the condo we had all dreamed of. 4/9

110

Toronto New Liberals 🌐 @tonewlibs.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

We then had a community consultation for our gingerbread condo. This wasted a lot of time, and didn't contribute much! Sound familiar? While community input can be nice, endless consultation often simply prevents housing from being built. You just need to let builders build. 3/9

110

Toronto New Liberals 🌐 @tonewlibs.bsky.social · 02/01/2025

Unfortunately there was a market shortage of certain goods (gingerbread houses). Luckily, the market provides alternate solutions, and we adapted using available market materials (Graham Crackers). The beauty of free markets is they allow for these kinds of innovations. 2/9

Happy New Year! This year, we did something a little bit different for The Holidays. We tried (our best) to build the most New Liberal Christmas ever! A Gingerbread condo! (Un?)fortunately rather than a condo, we got many many lessons about New Liberalism. 1/9

If Bonnie Crombie wants to win we need to be taking notes from the one state that swung blue. Focus on abundance and prosperity, that's what the voters wants above all.
