I didn't believe anyone who mentioned that I look like I lost weight until I put on my Spyro tank top and it fit me better than it has in the last three years, so I guess they're on to something 🤷‍♀️ sometimes it's worth holding onto that medium even though you've been wearing XLs for a while.

I also haven't told y'all, but I got new fish the other day! I was on a mission to get them in the tank, get the hermit crabs all in one tank also, then juggle dinner with one group of friends, then also another thing with a different friend to see the eclipse. Anyway, my friend's sister... (1/2)

I went out to see the eclipse last night! I took this photo with the kindness of the folks who brought their telescopes (because I forgot mine like a goober 😂) luckily they had educators at the dark park teaching folks and letting everyone have the chance to take a closer look.

It's a lot to type, so I'll just explain what I likely have found on my search. Sorry, no ALT 🥲 I found quite a few small brachiopod specimens, as well as a possible piece of a crinoid stem! Additionally, I found a few lovely natural pyrite crystals, and one that's either quartz or maybe calcite!

Went fossil hunting. Got rained on. Found mostly pyrite and some brachiopods and a teeny piece of a crinoid. Overall it was a fun trip! I'll post close ups of my finds later tonight if I remember (or if I get bored on the drive back)😂

Just saw a water spout! How cool! It was only sustained for a few minutes, then poofed. It must have hit land and collapsed.

I'm about 5 & 1/2 hours in now, and I just gave it a taste. It needed more ginger and a little MSG powder, and now the flavor is PERFECT! It's starting to get its creamy texture, and all the scum that floated to the top is removed 😎 time to occasionally add water as this renders for another 5 1/2!

Another photo of the tonkotsu broth as it renders. There's only one mushroom floating at the top, as the rest of the ingredients have sunk or boiled till they dissolved. The broth has started to turn opaque as the fats and collagen in the bones releases into the mix.
