I'm not doomed, I'm just late

A comic about feeling doomed. Bex is lay on the floor with her head down. She says, "It's too late for me... I fucked everything up... I took too long..." She suddenly lifts her head and says, "then again, I'm always late..." Sitting up, she says, "And it's usually fine..." Finally standing on her feet, she says, "So why am I worrying about it?"

Good job, California. 15 states to go. No child should marry. A child who marries isn’t emancipated, her (and it’s usually a girl) new spouse becomes her guardian. If he abuses her, she cannot go to a domestic violence shelter. She cannot initiate a divorce. She can’t have her own money.

sfchronicle.com

California bans child marriage, even with parental permission

Supporters hail ban on child marriage and companion bill to address forced marriages as “most comprehensive framework” in the U.S.

Yes every woman has been harassed, many assaulted. But every woman has also experienced invisible loss from moments she avoided harassment. She felt a space becoming unsafe, so she left, while men stayed on. And in leaving, she lost: opportunities, experiences, learning, promotions, even simply fun.

I'm glad people are talking lots about indie conventions! Not surprised to see many people not understand the point of my original post (this isnt a dig on fanart or your set up) but talking about SHOWS not understanding proper curation. Why are we seeing fanart print walls at an indie comics show?

As a new Harry Potter trailer makes the rounds, it bears repeating that there’s no way to watch this show without supporting J.K. Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting on the trans community.

There is no ethical consumption of HBO’s Harry Potter series

You can’t without supporting Rowling’s transphobic bigotry.

Found 💙 Attack for my friend @/Hydria over on tumblr/twitter of a long awaited reunion between a dad and his adopted daughter :) #art #ocart #ocsky #dinaurian #fossilfighters #artfight

Kronin, a blue and white alien species known as dinaurians from the game fossil fighters, embraces another blue dinaurian with yellow accents, skipper. They both have tears in their eyes, each with expressions of disbelief. ☀️

Skipper went down with the scouting ship many years prior and was thought dead, this moment depicts them reuniting :]

"You have to draw every day if you want to make it" is tired, burnout-inducing, elitist advice and if I hear it again Im going to start giving out demerits. Draw when you can, when you have motivation, and if your intent is to improve always try to attach one goal to your drawing to focus on.

Seriously, DON’T draw every day. That’s how I developed a repetitive strain injury and had to take an extended break from drawing for months while it healed. That was over a decade ago and it STILL gives me trouble if I draw for a few hours without taking a break. Please, please take breaks 😭

They should invent a bluesky that doesn’t compress my art that is, and I cannot stress this enough, less than 1 MB in file size, to hell regardless of actual file dimensions so I don’t have to save a second version of everything I draw

when the cosmic abomination ruins your Tuesday. and also your entire life.... attack for @astarphel.bsky.social #dragon #dragonart #comic #art #ocsky #ocart #artfight

a two panel sketch comic. In the first panel. Saturnavi looks wistfully off to the left side of the screen. Dialogue reads "And with strange eons.... even death may die." The second panel shows Satus staring past the camera with a frustrated expression. Dialogue reads "God, I hope she dies." Behind him, Archiron lunges towards him, mouth agape and one claw raised, screeching loudly. ☀️

hating your art is not a virtue, it's a sign of burn out or mental illness. the same way your muscles ache if you exercise too much or your stomach hurts if you're starving. learn to identify it as a sign you're pushing too hard or expecting too much of yourself somehow and check in with yourself.

Daily: You're not alone on the road

A character with a top hat on a horse is in a desert progressing slowly. Three metallic creatures are with him, one on the horse, two behind following the horse.
It is the end of day, the mood is dramatic yet adventurous, like the beginning of a new story waiting to be to untold.

And on top of that, they were all focused on people of color Trans poc, especially trans black people, rarely get any representation in media at all, let alone children's media. So taking that away is a huge slap to the face.
