With AI, you just get a summary that looks a whole lot like fact. You don’t know the source of that information or whether it’s biased, which it probably is. For high-stake scenarios, like election-related information, AI may give you a skewed response towards a left- or right-leaning point of view.

Self-regulation can work, but it shouldn’t be the only line of defence. A better model is independent oversight with industry input: clear rules, transparent monitoring, real penalties, and accountability when things go wrong.

What was once justified as “necessary” for a few is soon applied to many. In the end, the majority discovers too late that the system they tolerated has turned on them, and the freedoms they assumed were permanent have quietly vanished. Don't look away. Voice your concerns and lift those of others.

Most people look away, believing the danger does not concern them. But repression does not stop where it starts. Once the mechanisms of control are built and normalized, they expand. The tools used against minorities become precedents, and the boundaries of acceptable abuse steadily widen.

Repression almost never announces itself by targeting everyone at once. It begins quietly, aimed at minorities, those with less power, fewer allies, or voices that are easier to ignore. Their rights are restricted, their freedoms narrowed, and their suffering dismissed as exceptional or deserved.
