Most people look away, believing the danger does not concern them. But repression does not stop where it starts. Once the mechanisms of control are built and normalized, they expand. The tools used against minorities become precedents, and the boundaries of acceptable abuse steadily widen.

Repression almost never announces itself by targeting everyone at once. It begins quietly, aimed at minorities, those with less power, fewer allies, or voices that are easier to ignore. Their rights are restricted, their freedoms narrowed, and their suffering dismissed as exceptional or deserved.
