Well this is a slap in the face to communities using Fandom still, mega sounding AI article and not hearing out any feedback. If you ever felt like leaving/forking Fandom wiki now would be the time😅 I'm helping in hosting wikis and a discussion page under /f

Single-handedly made a few wikis leave the platform Fandom following the 2023 Grimace incident as well.

Especially didn't like some "fans" go after CaptainSauce for his take. (Both cap and larper was respectful about it tho) All and all I'm not against the larptubing trend and it's cool to see larpiplier for instance raise a lot for charity etc. But yeah agree originality and your own is best route.

I made a gallery with a live previewer for majority of the stable skin releases for MediaWiki :D skins.wikora.io

Private equity and investor powered tends to do that sadly, I agree with WeirdGloop all wikis should leave. Their probs paying back the $40mil they got in mid 2010s.💀

For starters: on average, moving away from Fandom doubles the number of people editing. I’ve seen the pattern across every wiki we’ve ever moved off Fandom, but here’s a pretty striking graph from OSRS Wiki:

Yeah I've noticed that occurring a few times lol, it is a bit of an intrusive bot in all fairness tho (Idk if that means a user blocked or what)

Screenshot from the website clearsky.app showcasing 30 accounts have blocked the indie wiki bot account.

Seems people have already dumped the wiki!! 😀 (since dumps often include discussions but completely unusable/messy) Built a custom script to export the fandom discussion forum. Almost 8k threads archived (I'll scrape the images afterwards & get those archived) Time to leave it running overnight lol

Sounds like Fandom wikia is gonna be pushing more and more AI into their wiki communities. Now's the time to escape them just like GTA wiki did. variety.com/2026/digital...

GTA Forum post announcing the Grand Theft Auto wiki has left the platform fandom to their own website hosted by Weird Gloop using MediaWiki software.

Fair enough Idk why but I've always had a slight distrust with that as well lol. If you want I can give you a custom subdomain under teamtdm.net. (e.x. lab.teamtdm .net worry.teamtdm.net etc) teamtdm is a community site anyways haha.

Logged out users can no longer view RecentChanges on Fandom Wikis?? In addition with all the popups. No better time to escape lol. Glad I was able to move dantdm.wiki off of Fandom awhile back!! #Fandom #Wiki #Roblox #RobloxWiki #Wikia #gamepedia

Still wouldn't say I know TS but we’re figuring it out. Been 2 months since I spoke about this #ATproto #youtube sorta thing I was building. Still debating if I’ll push it to prod. Not everything works. Video Streaming/federation confuse me still — went in only knowing a little JS, no TS/Vite.

All the more reasons to leave @fandom.com Wiki. Seeing the way Fandom / Wikia runs makes me glad I know how to self host and fork wikis lol. Sadly I used to use fandom a lot thinking it was cool. #Fandom #Wiki #Wikia

Great news along with Asimo on twitter saying he got official word Teddy won't be in the event. #Roblox #RobloxDev Genuinely hoping for not only #BoycottTheHatch but a sitewide Roblox protest like the 2023 Reddit blackout. Insane Roblox let this slide.

Lowkey enjoying this too much!😅Put some effort into getting playlists lol likely messy/inefficient code but it works (don't even know if I'll release it, I just wanted to learn as I got a lot of extra time)

Web video sharing app made with React and Typescript. Screenshot is showcasing some UI elements for playlist.

Self teaching myself React and Typescript with doing a very small scale ATProto youtube sorta thing lol. Difficult but getting there 😅 about a week into this, I enjoy it though.. #ATProto #YouTube

The wikis I host should get quicker performance now I have transferred them over to a VPS. Super pleased with the result wikis deserve more than fandom wiki a 😅 #wiki #mediawiki #fandom #wikia

The central wiki. This wiki will showcase info about the hosting, news and more.

A wiki for the Anime and Manga series Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online.

A wiki for the dantdm related fan made minecraft server, TeamTDM Network.
