So, who's been hitting SharpClaws on the head this week? Anyone for the first time? We look back fondly on Star Fox Adventures - yes, even Prince Tricky - so it's great to see it on Nintendo Switch 2. Remember: you can activate widescreen in the options before you load a file!

A grubby looking Switch 2 is placed 'artistically' over blue and yellow sheets. The photographer has no ring light, this was actually a pain, don't be too harsh. Please. The dust just kept appearing.

Our annual Pride Picnic encouraged staff to brave the UK heat in the name of #PrideMonth! The bright and bold celebrations served as a beautiful reminder that Rare welcomes everyone (and the factor 50 sunscreen on offer kept everyone's skin un-singed during the celebrations too).

Those colourful cakes we mentioned on the previous image? Here's they're at the front of the table, their rainbow icing on full display. They were shortly moved further back on the table, away from the deadly laser known as the Sun.

A line of Rare staff deal with extreme heat as they wait for their extremely tasty luncheon. Wear suncream, kids!

An Instagram perfect picnic basket of scones and strawberries sits on a blue tablecloth, some colourful cakes behind it. they didn't last long.

We first encouraged people to set sail into our silly adventure-filled pirate sandbox @seaofthieves.com eight whole years ago, and we celebrated that this week with CAKE! And NOTEBOOKS! Both were delicious. A sincere thank you to everyone who's ever played in the past 2920 days 💙💛

A very tall cake inspired by Sea of Thieves. The swirly icing is a gradient of green to blue, while black Kraken tentacles rise from the base and curl over the top, among official models based on the game. It looked nowhere near this impressive two minutes later once a knife was introduced to it and now this is the only memory we have of it. Photos are precious.

Three navy notebooks sit on a table dressed in a Sea of Thieves branded tablecloth. The notebooks also feature a bronze emblem of a gryphon with an eight emblazoned on its hind quarters. Correcting that to a nine for next year will be easy, at least.

Our chums at @fangamer.com have been at it again, coming up with a pair of handsome Banjo-Kazooie tributes in pin and blanket form. That's right, a full-on blanket! With the swishy fringe and everything. Proper fancy. Go look: fanga.me/r/new-bk

The corner of a Banjo-Kazooie blanket showing a cute Jinjo among other iconic items from the series, like a backpack, honeycomb and egg.

Photo of the perfect house thanks to its Banjo-Kazooie blanket featuring a sneaking Gruntilda among other iconic imagery from the series, including musical notes, a jigsaw piece and a golden feather. Also in the picture: a cute Banjo-Kazooie soft toy, and a pair of Jinjos among the bookshelves seemingly having existential crises..

The same chair as the previous image, but now the rug is spread over the chair to show the large image of Banjo and Kazooie on it. A straw hat has inexplicably appeared on the chair. The changes in the image have done nothing for the emotional state of the Jinjos.

A Banjo-Kazooie inspired pin badge, which features a little Banjo and Kazooie element that can run around the outside, which is undeniably very cute.

We lowered the sails on the S.S. #FanArtFriday once more, and the first heading for 2026 took us to Instagram where we found Viva Piñata's Leafos by artsyicey and a moody @seaofthieves.com number from maria_ronold_artwork! That'll do nicely, have a good weekend.

The festive season has truly arrived at the @rare.co.uk studio with the usual oversized tree (where gifts for @trusselluk.bsky.social are being amassed), seasonal grub and a visit from the actual Mr. Grinch man himself. Who shouted at us. A lot. 10/10 day.

A tree of Obscene Size stands dressed in a generous amount of baubles, begging the question of who was bold enough to decorate its highest branches?

Rare staff look very happy in their overly festive attire. The table they're sitting at is decorated in a long, green, fuzzy tablemat and wiggly red (fake) candles to give the image the air of Seussian whimsy necessary to justify the Grinch's presence.

Eight Rare staff and one very dedicated Grinch grin at a camera somewhere slightly above where most of them have got the impression they need to look.

Food! On a plate! Roast potatoes and veg, a wellington and a wide Yorkshire pudding. Truly the sort of meal to put you in a two-hour coma at least.

Currently lamenting the absence of free noodles in November with a little #FanArtFriday distraction. Two from Twitter/X this week, with some @seaofthieves.com paintings from BAM_BaLam_Media and an outrageously cute depiction of blue-haired bug-slaughterer Vela by SafeTortilla.

The top one is a happy-looking pirate wearing purple and gold, dancing with a ship in the background. Kameo: Elements of Power and Perfect Dark Zero both celebrate their 20th anniversary today! Well, they're not actually celebrating, they're merely data and incapable of expressing emotion, but you and us? We can celebrate. To all the pummelled Trolls and Infection mode brawls!

A half-and-half image of Kameo, from Kameo: Elements of Power, and Joanna Dark, from Perfect Dark Zero, with each side showing half of each character's face, sort of combining to to make Kamanna. Well no, there's a clear dividing line, and the hair doesn't line up. It's a fun image anyway and we're thinking about it too much.

While today marks Banjo-Tooie's 24-year, seven-month-and-eight-day anniversary in the EU, it's also the 25th anniversary of this second helping of bear and bird landing in America! Please use this post to reminisce over its connected worlds, new abilities and murder of Bottles.

The box art of Banjo-Tooie as it was released on the N64, featuring Banjo, Kazooie and Mumbo staring you down with looks of happy intimidation. The box also happily exclaims that the game is 'only for' Nintendo 64, which was accurate at the time. Nowadays you can play it on Xbox Series S/X, via Cloud Gaming or even Nintendo Switch. Isn't modern gaming delightful? ISN'T IT?

It's Tumblr time! No, we're not throwing any devs down a hill (yet), it's just one of those #FanArtFriday posts where the community creativity comes from that there Tumblr. Fiery @seaofthieves.com scene is from dummymegan while the Tooie tribute is by Yin88808. Till the next one.

It's Halloween, so we made you this art of some certified @rare.co.uk Spooky Boys doing the one thing that's enjoyed by all custodians of damned souls: friendly competition via a popular family board game. Enjoy your own creepy celebrations, whatever they are!

The lanky Grim Reaper from Grabbed by the Ghoulies, Gregg the Grim Reaper from Conker's Bad Fur Day and the surly 'Ferryman' from Sea of Thieves sit around a table enjoying sticking small colourful swords into a barrel, from which the legally-distinct head of a bowler hat wearing character can be seen. Text reads: "Happy Halloween from Rare".
