Fortnitemares 2026: Is it Worth Checking Out?
Fortnitemares 2026 is about halfway through its spooky-season run. With new Five Nights at Freddy's content, another iconic horror Freddy, plus returning items and twists on past season areas, there's plenty to like. If you wait for seasonal or limited-time events to decide whether it's time to hop back on the Battle Bus, let's talk. Here's my take on whether or not…

Stupid Never Dies’ 4th Dev Diary Takes an Artistic Turn
Before Phenixx Gaming, I was an art student. Specifically, I thought for a while that I would get an art history degree, before I realized that I loved writing more than I did regurgitating dates and names. Stupid Never Dies’ 4th Dev Diary takes me back to something I love: dissecting art styles and picking at the way things look.

FM27’s training is about to be a bit more complex
Short, sweet, and to the point - something I am not when talking about Football Manager. However, on Friday we got a short video overview of the upcoming training and tactical complexity that has been overhauled for Football Manager 27. Some of it can be very interesting. Which is odd for me to say, given I delegate team training and focus more on individual bits and pieces.

Technically, the Nintendo Switch did let players play Kingdom Hearts. In the days of Nintendo's handheld-home hybrid console testing the waters of cloud gaming, it was possible to play versions of the Square Enix games via stable, strong internet. Now, with the power of the Switch 2, Nintendo fans are no longer held hostage by data throttling or slow internet speeds.

I am, if nothing else, a creepy-horrorsexual. The Steam marketplace has plenty of games to satisfy a dedicated deck-building fan. There's also no shortage of roguelikes either. Throw all three into a pixel-style experience, and it might become one of the great games to close out 2026 when it launches in December.

Activision Successfully Reboots Halo If They Do These 3 Things
If Activision is going to handle the Halo handoff successfully, it will likely require a major shift. 343 Studios, most recently known as Halo Studios, controlled the franchise for over a decade. Many people now know Monolith Soft for the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise. However, as someone who adores the various franchises that they have worked with over the years, I hold a different Xeno series dear. While it is suspected that a lot of the source material for the Xenosaga series is considered Lost Media now, I think Monolith Soft should be allowed to dive even further back into its history.

I have been frothing at the mouth for Stupid Never Dies like a zombie drooling over brains. GPTRACK50’s new action game oozes style and gives me vibes not dissimilar to Lollipop Chainsaw and Devil May Cry. With the release date creeping up on us, the devs have revealed another deep dive into Davy’s adventure. In a new video shared by SEGA and GPTRACK50, titled “Deep Bite #2”, some core gameplay details have been showcased that we haven’t seen before.

Bungie Says Destiny is Not Dead in New Update
Sony eliminated nearly 300 jobs at Bungie this June following a lackluster response to its latest game, Marathon. Far from a bad experience, the firings pointed to yet another troubling sign in the games industry in 2026. Now, after fan outcry over the potential halt of projects related to its other major IP, Destiny, two leads at the studio are offering promising updates on their future.

Metis Creative announce RPG, WANE
This will freak my editor or those who know me out a little, but I am enjoying the number of CRPG-themed games we're getting right now. Particularly the ones that are taking some influence from Disco Elysium in some ways. Well, announced at the weekend during PC Gamer's PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct, WANE might give some hints of conventional CRPGs with a styling not too dissimilar to…

David’s Retro Rewind | Wolfenstein: The New Order
Feeling justified in calling a game from 2014 “retro” only gives me a slight existential crisis. Moving swiftly along so as not to dwell on that thought, let’s turn the clocks back so far that history itself becomes vastly different! I’ve recently played through Wolfenstein: The New Order for the first time, and I figured I might as well break out the Retro Rewind banner as an excuse to discuss some of my thoughts on it.
