My Ukrainian copies of KotW and Bloody Rose arrived yesterday and they're so friggin beautiful. The interior art, and the maps, are really, really cool.

Wow, Bookstagrammers are taking some seriously gorgeous pics of their @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social editions of Kings of the Wyld.

Got my author copies of the Broken Binding special edition of Kings of the Wyld and they are absolutely glorious.

All done Ghost of Yotei. Another masterpiece. Is it too early to look forward to the next one?

The best thing about spending my birthday in stunningly gorgeous Tofino is that we only had to drive a few hours to get here. No godforsaken airlines/airports to deal with 😅

Just heard someone refer to the Fire Emblem games as "anime chess" and I love that. Got a favourite Fire Emblem? Mine was Awakenings. Definitely wish there were more of them on the Switch 2.

I hate when the cover of this Spider-Man comic becomes blisteringly relevant.

Well, look what's arrived in the mail! I've heard a TON of great things about this book, which is about Sky Pirates and Found Family and by now you shouldn't care what else because those are two great reasons to check this out. A huge thanks to @mauriceafrich.bsky.social for sending this my way!

Finished Persona 3 Reload last night. Don't remember the ending being that poignant--the music, especially. And while I feel every Persona game gets a bit tedious near the end,I also think its core concept (summoning your inner avatar to fight demons) is one of the coolest ever conceived.

This right here, an upcoming novella from @jedediahberry.com. BY FAR the most "fun" I've had reading since I inhaled Fritz Leiber's "Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser" novels a few years back.

It's not every day an ARC arrives that sounds THIS up my alley, but today's book mail certainly does! Thanks to my editor at @orbitbooks.bsky.social for sending this along!

Got some sweet book mail yesterday: a glossy, gorgeous, limited edition ARC of THE SCOUR by @richardswanauthor.bsky.social, which is being published this fall by @grimdarkmagazine.bsky.social. Very cool. Veeeeery friggin cool.

The main difference between the Switch 2 and Switch Lite? I never once worried about dropping or lightly tossing my Lite, but I'm deathly afraid of breaking this grossly expensive monstrosity 🤣

Nicholas Eames @nicholaseames.bsky.social · 17/06/2025

Wrong again, robot. There is absolutely a merman in Kings of the Wyld. Bloody Rose, too. I don't write books WITHOUT mermen, tbh.

Thanks to @torbooks.bsky.social for sending me a finished copy of ANJI KILLS A KING by @bookreviewskill.bsky.social to match my super cool ARC. Having a blurb on the back is an honour as well!

Congrats to @guygavrielkay.bsky.social, whose new book WRITTEN ON THE DARK is out today in the US and Canada. Here's just a few of the GGK books I've collected over the years. A few gems include a signed first edition of Lord of Emperors and a copy of its predecessor signed WAY BACK in 1998 😅

All done. Boy, I'm gonna miss these grief-ravaged, beautiful souls. What an absolute gem of a game.

A huge thanks to @tbcart.bsky.social for hand-delivering a copy of his new book, Jester, at lunch on Monday! His novella, Majordomo, is excellent, and I can't wait to dive into this. No one writes a plucky underdog like Tim! Fans of Travis Baldree, J. Zachary Pike, and myself: read these books!

What you've already heard from literally a million other sources is true: Clair Obscur is a masterpiece. I am continually awestruck by this game.

At last! I bought this thing at midnight the day it dropped, but am just finally starting it now. Sounds like we've got a BG3esque, genre-defining masterpiece on our hands, eh?

Got some truly awesome bookmail today: a hardcover of @mhayinde.bsky.social's A SONG OF LEGENDS LOST to go with these incredibly unique ARC's (one book split into two) I read last year. This book is excellent! And that cover (by Rich Anderson, who did my books as well) is 🔥🔥🔥

Nicholas Eames @nicholaseames.bsky.social · 08/04/2025

Happy release day to @mhayinde.bsky.social! This book is excellent, and gave me some serious Horizon: Zero Dawn vibes, which are some of the best vibes around!

I remember people wondering if Disney+ would make the new Daredevil too kid friendly and leave out all the blood and death... Well, I'm 15 minutes in and they didn't. They sure as fuck didn't.

Been playing Persona 3 Reload lately and realizing how much the original blew my mind when I first played it. The characters feel like old friends, and I think maybe this game kick-started my enduring love of the anime art style? This or the OG Brigandine, maybe...

A reader shared their brand new Kings of the Wyld-inspired tattoo with me and boy that's a pretty awesome (and permanent) depiction of Clay's shield, Blackheart!

More book mail! THE BONE RAIDERS by @realjacksonford.bsky.social looks right up my alley! Considering how many phenomenal authors the West Coast of Canada produces, I anticipate it being exceptionally awesome.

Got some GORGEOUS book mail from headofzeus.bsky.social yesterday, both Sons of Darkness and Dance of Shadows (which comes out next week). I was fortunate enough to meet @gouravmohanty.bsky.social in Scotland last summer, and can't wait to dive into these. Also, look at all that SWAG 😍

My brother Ty wrote a 20k LitRpg novelette that I'm about to grammatically eviscerate (because he asked me to and would do the same for me). It's loosely based on his love for making an "All Warrior Party" in Final Fantasy 1 and I'm pretty psyched to dive in!

All done AC Origins, though I may go back and play The Hidden Ones DLC as I hear it makes up for that colossal blunder of an ending. Beautiful game, though. Loved Bayek as a character. The level of detail in these latest ACs is astounding.

Made a list of movies I've been meaning to watch and am slowing working through it. Tonight's choice is Escape From New York. Kinda wild I've never seen this, eh?

4110

Nicholas Eames @nicholaseames.bsky.social · 11/01/2025

Once in a while I get the urge to jump back into AC Origins or Odyssey (playing Origins atm, which is stunningly beautiful). Does anyone who's played these and Valhalla think Valhalla is better? The Internet doesn't think so, but it's hard to imagine this formula not making for a great game.

Recently picked up the hardcover volume of DAWNRUNNER from @darkhorse.com and can confirm that it's absolutely fucking stunning inside.

I know Neel's the fan favourite on Skeleton Crew but this hilarious pirate droid is the highlight of the show for me. When he sees Skull Mountain turned into a spa and yells, "They ruined it!" I laughed so friggin hard. Also Jude Law as a charming space rascal is peak casting, obviously.

Got some last-minute Christmas book mail! This one's from my editor at Orbit and sounds amazing--an old-school "go find a wizard to save the world" kind of adventure--and that cover, rather intentionally I think, is giving some MAJOR Wheel of Time vibes. It'll be on bookshelves this June!
