"In the Ancient Hallowed Places" Ovenbird with Six-spotted Tiger Beetle 10"x24" oil painting on panel The beautiful conglomerate rocks of an ancient sea floor; buried and lifted and revealed and eroded, the life that once was and is again, complex and beautiful and interconnected across time. 🪶🐡
A long format oil painting showing a cropped rock formation of ancient conglomerate, cracked and looming in its current form by water, ice, and time. A wash of moss and lichens crawls across the surfaces that allowed it to grow, with stunted mountain laurel taking root in the mossy nursery, and large brownish rock tripe lichens clinging here and there. A few aged white oak leaves sit in the moss, bug eaten and worn, and near the center sits an Ovenbird, the tiny stripy warbler pausing in its day. On the rock closest to us on the right is a metallic green colored Six-spotted tiger beetle. The artist watermark reads: copyright 2026 Jennifer Miller "Nambroth" featherdust dot com

If you'd like my gallery to notify you when I drop off new original oil paintings for sale, before they go public, they have a mailing list! If you'd like to get on it, the details are below (sorry for the text image, it got a bit long). There is alt text
Hello!
My representing gallery, West End Gallery in Corning, NY (where I sell my original oil paintings) has let me know that they maintain a list of folks that wish to be notified when I drop off new work to the gallery, to give them a preview and sort of a "first pick" before the paintings go live in a public manner. They're offering to add any of my supporters to this list if anyone is interested. They do offer professional shipping to anyone not local.

To be clear, this list is intended to notify collectors/interested persons when I consign new work to the gallery, and I'm told you will NOT be added to their general mailing list unless you wish to be. To this end, I'd anticipate you'd get notified 4 or fewer times per year (in reality I usually drop off new work with them 1-3 times per year). I'll be dropping new work off this week so you can expect an email soon if you are added.

If this is something you'd like to be added to, please DM/email me with the email address you'd like added, and I'll send it on to them. If you DM or email me, please let me know who you are and how you know/found my work as I will be gently vetting this to folks who I have some idea who they are. My email is Jennifer@featherdust.com

Fireflies and Penstemon digitalis, 2026 This is a real photo taken in my yard, made with many stacked 4-second exposures. In all, this photo represents about 8-10 minutes worth of firefly flashes in a small area. Several species are represented here.
A real photograph made of many stacked exposures of fireflies at night. In the foreground are white-blooming native penstemon flowers, with out of focus purple blue flag irises in the background. Hundreds of firefly flashes in hues from greenish yellow to orange are streaked across the photo.

A lush green group of late spring flowers. Red is Eastern columbine, Aquilegia canadensis; delicate periwinkle is blue-eyed grass, Sisyrinchium angustifolium which isn't actually a grass; pink is hairy beardtongue, penstemon hirsutus; white is wild strawberry, Fragaria virginiana.

She is iridescent and multicolored with rich blues, bronzes, greens, and grey colors. A hunk of petrified wood with a rich array of blue grey, white, and tan streaks is the parrot's perch. A messy halo of caustic light surrounds her. Some days you need the dragon, powerful and protective; some days you are the dragon, fierce and full of fire
A digital painting done in Clip Studio Paint. A black dragon rears back from the viewer in a powerful and defiant pose, readying its flame breath. The flame is a rainbow, gathering in the dragon's mouth and throat with streaks of rainbow light streaming. The dragon has a mane of glowing fire, flowing back and around in waves, in the white, pink, blue, brown, and black of the progress pride flag colors. The dragon's pose flows into a raised talon, ready to strike or defend, with wicked curved talons. Its eye is a radiant yellow. It has various spikes on its head, a curved beaky snout full of tooth like hooks, and forked horns. Its wings are spread and flared behind. The art is not subtle in its support for queer people. Did you know that the bees that need saving are NOT honeybees? Honeybees are the dairy cows of bees. People brought them over from Europe to make us honey. The problem with honeybees, esp in resource-limited ecosystems (like hey! cities!) is that they compete with our native bees for food.
