Many learners who come to Limitless Learners have had a really difficult time in education. Some have felt misunderstood. Some have been told they are “too much” or “not trying hard enough”. Some have slowly started to believe those things about themselves. And then the right tutor comes along.
Recruitment graphic for Limitless Learners' tutor directory. Top: award badges for the 2023 Scottish Asian & Business Awards and SAMEE's Supporting Inclusive Learning Award, alongside the Limitless Learners Education & Development logo with tagline 'Nothing Can Stop You.' Headline text reads 'The right tutor can change everything. Join our tutor directory and help learners feel seen, supported, and capable.' Below, a before-and-after illustration: on the left, a student slumps face-down on a cluttered desk surrounded by handwritten negative thoughts ('I'm not trying hard enough,' 'I don't fit in,' 'I always get it wrong,' 'Everyone else seems to find it so easy,' 'Maybe I'm just not good at this,' 'I hate school,' 'I feel overwhelmed'). An arrow points to the right side, showing a smiling curly-haired boy and a tutor working together at a desk with a laptop, notebooks, and pens, under the text 'I just needed someone who understands how I learn.' 🔢 "2 to the 10th is like... 20?" "okay maybe 200?" It's 1,024. 😅 Exponents catch people out every single time. And honestly, it makes sense why. Our brains are wired to think in addition. So when we see 2¹⁰, we instinctively think 2 x 10 = 20.
Limitless Learners graphic on a purple striped background with a white content card. Scottish Asian & Business Awards 2023 Winner and Supporting Inclusive Learning Award logos, plus the Limitless Learners logo and tagline 'Nothing can stop you,' shown at the top. Card labelled 'Exponents' shows a step-by-step thought process: step 1 reads '2 to the 10th is like... 20?', step 2 reads 'okay maybe 200?', step 3 reads '2 to the power of 10 equals 1024.' A highlighted explanation below reads 'Exponents multiply, they don't scale. 2 to the power of 10 means 2 multiplied by itself ten times, not 2 times 10. It snowballs fast, all the way to 1024.' ➖ A lie about a lie is the truth. Sounds like philosophy. It's actually maths. 😄 One of the most confusing things students learn is why a negative multiplied by a negative gives a positive.
Graphic from Limitless Learners explaining why a negative times a negative equals a positive. The main text reads, "A lie about a lie... is the truth. (−)(−) = +". Below, it explains: "Two flips cancel out. Multiplying by a negative flips the sign. Flip it twice and you land back on positive — so −3 × −4 = +12." The top includes award logos and the Limitless Learners logo with the tagline "Nothing Can Stop You," and the website address "limitlesslearners.co.uk" appears at the bottom.

😂 The internet's favourite maths debate is back... 6 ÷ 2(1 + 2) = ? Every year, thousands of people argue about it. The answer isn't really the interesting part. The lesson is.
Educational infographic from Limitless Learners about order of operations. The graphic humorously references the recurring internet debate over the equation “6 ÷ 2(1 + 2) = ???” with the text “Nobody: Absolutely nobody: The internet, every single year.” A highlighted explanation states: “Do it in order, not all at once. Parentheses first: 1 + 2 = 3. Then left to right: 6 ÷ 2 = 3, and 3 × 3 = 9. That’s PEMDAS.” The top of the image includes award logos and the Limitless Learners branding with the slogan “Nothing Can Stop You,” and the website address appears at the bottom.

Sometimes we need clarity about the information given in exam questions. What helps is to write out working clearly, write out formulae, and begin by writing out/labelling information.

Happy New Year! A new year does not need to mean a new version of yourself. There is no rush to transform or set goals before you are ready. Growth can be slow, gentle and steady. It can look like rest, understanding yourself more deeply or taking one small step at a time.

This month is a reminder that Muslim students should be able to learn in environments where they feel safe, respected and understood. For many Muslim teens, especially those who are neurodivergent, school can involve navigating both academic demands and assumptions about who they are.

Career paths are rarely linear. They’re often shaped by small decisions, unexpected opportunities, interests that change over time and the skills we pick up along the way. This activity from Skills Development Scotland encourages young people to explore their own journey in a gentle way.
A colourful infographic titled “How I got into my career,” co-branded with Scottish Careers Week, Limitless Learners, and Skills Development Scotland logos at the top. The layout is a vertical timeline with five numbered sections. Each section has a rounded box where students can write the skills they developed. The sections are labelled: “School” (1), “Work-experience/volunteering” (2), “After school” (3), “Jobs I’ve had” (4), and “Now” (5). Each stage is connected by a curved, multicoloured pathway. There is also a space at the top for the student’s name. The design uses pink, yellow, blue, and purple accents on a white background with a dark blue border.
