An additional point about the 1v3 is that single-hit moves are almost genuinely useless in the later levels. Gaining/losing MP is also extremely tedious and while playing I thought of infinite ways that it could be better/less unfair-seeming. Despite this, I still love Amazing Island 😅 (4/5)

The game is not the worst thing ever (it's functional), but the last level demands too much. You'll likely need to reset to get better RNG at times- taking forever. Monster Card(s)! being 1v3 makes it a constant uphill battle which is sad considering how fun Amazing Island is otherwise. (3/5)

Monster Card(s)! is a card-based RPG where your created monster is put on a card with specific stats proportional with its in-game stats. It has two moves and you can give it one more. There's a type chart, but it's overall superfluous. It's wonkiness is interesting, but there are big flaws. (2/5)

After a long while of on/off trying, we finally true 100%'d Amazing Island! For genuine 100%, you need two GBAs, a GBA link cable and a GCN link cable. Playing through all of the minigames was a fun exercise in discovery, but the GBA tribulations were a completely different story... (1/5)

OVERALL THOUGHTS (2/2): Nonetheless, I had fun overall. I won Minesweeper, (first to win an Expert game), and got second in Singles and Doubles. Not being able to ban stages in Doubles likely cost us the event, but I digress. I have hopes that future events will improve on this one.

OVERALL THOUGHTS (1/2): First time going for two days, probably won't do it again. Didn't hate it, but the lack of arcade games made day 1 feel superfluous. The heat and the bad food we got led to an unprecedented sickly feeling for me most of day 2 which definitely impacts my opinion sadly.

- Seemed like some vendors had their games picked over/they had a TON of PS2 games (can't stop that though). - No prizes for 2nd place, which wasn't how it was for other years. Winner takes all is stupid in my opinion. + Despite venue change, the event still had the same vibes as other ones.

+ Tournaments were timely and ran smoothly. One did seem a bit slow, but it had 50+ people and we weren't in it. + Vendors were nice and prices were okay (funnily those AI-advertising vendors had the worst prices). - The venue was HOT- to the point where I was nauseous (probably the food+heat).

We peeped the schedule prior and saw a Minesweeper event and a social media meetup thing: + The former was fun and chill, but had an inconsistent description making it unclear if it had a prize (got a shirt). - The latter was so loose it was barely anything- needed some kind of mediator/structure

- Disappointing selection of arcade games. Seemed like less than before and several of them were broken to the point where you couldn't really enjoy them. - Unfortunately continuing the trend of people not understanding personal space- had several people unnecessarily walk/bump into me.

+ The convention center fit the event nicely, it seemed spacious, albeit somewhat disjointed overall. - Several putrid AI advertisements, for event food as well as some vendors, (the food was not great/stale and we decided not to buy from those vendors at all). + Good variety of vendors.

Figured I'd try out a new way to talk about an event- UNSORTED PROS and CONS for the Cleveland Gaming Classic 2026 thread! #CGC26 To preface, we went on Friday and Saturday- entering 3 events across them all (Minesweeper, Ultimate Singles/Doubles). I'll be covering the event overall as well.

Finally had the time to get to another event (Midgard #17). Doubles - same disappointment. Singles - Piranha Plant and Isabelle. Finally took a game against Isabelle which is nice I guess. Redemption - DLC gauntlet. Sephiroth (close win), Min Min (close loss), Terry (yeah).

Not really. Didn't get Pokopia and was never interested in Champions, so the only game stuff I have going on is finally finishing Violet's DLC and continuing to play other games. So I'm essentially where I always am with Pokemon, but with the added interest of eventual Winds/Waves announcements.

Saw TADC Last Act in theaters last night (no spoilers from me)- it was a mix of bittersweet and uplifting. We rewatched everything in the days before, so I can say for certain that this was a satisfying conclusion overall. Also for the record, our theater was super chill.

I haven't tried to make everything yet, but from what I've done so far just treating it like pixel art and resizing it once I'm done works wonders. That's probably not the exact intended way to do it, but if I can make pixel art perfectly fine I'll take it over trying to use the (bad) touchscreen.

This one captivated me so much back in elementary school that they let me keep it. I recall it having stories/elaborations throughout and a fairly sizeable catalogue of cryptids in the back. All of the latter was drawn in the same style with a 5-star system rating their possibility of being real.

LOSER'S #PIXELART HIGHLIGHTS #45: An Undocumented Memory: Originally uploaded today! Fun fact: I had the idea for this one a few months ago- but it only took around 4 days (April 8th to 11th) to finish it! It's meant to invoke the feeling of something that you *think* you remember.

Not a full review, but I definitely liked the Galaxy movie. Unfortunately, I think it suffered from the Red Hulk problem in a few spots- advertising 'big' reveals just lessens the impact of the film. Surprises are allowed to exist (and thankfully there were still a few).

I like the idea of them continuing, though honestly my gripes are more on the procedure side (mismanaged votes, lackluster/nonexistent poll/video visuals, video length, etc). Having an existing list of examples could help prevent broad polls, but I feel having that be the poll itself is limiting.
