Teens are funny. You could tell them that it's a quiet area in the library and to go literally elsewhere if they're going to talk the ENTIRE time and they'll ignore you and whisper for hours instead of going somewhere louder. All these kids do well in school but have zero common sense.

With Phish touring the South this fall, we’re raising funds to support the grassroots fight against book bans and censorship. 100% of the donations go to Read Freely Alabama (@readfreelyal.bsky.social). Pitch in here: www.zeffy.com/en-US/donati... #phish #phishtour

Support the fight against book bans and censorship

Our fall and winter tour mission is simple: keep books and information accessible in the United States. As restrictions on reading rise across the country,…

I wish they interviewed me since most of what I do IS shushing since the community still wants a quiet place to study or read. It's almost like when they say "Forget about books.." when the other part of my job is.. recommending books. I am a relic I guess. 🫠

These campaign texts are worse than the scam texts.

Another night where I have to tell a teen that actually no, the study table isn't the best idea to make your own burritos and no pouring queso over the table also isn't the best idea when we literally have a (recently expanded!) café for meals. Go there. Why did I choose this job again?

Please have me in your thoughts tonight.. most Thursday nights I deal with a handful of teens on this QUIET floor in the library. It's literally my awful job to maintain the quiet. Tonight there are 19 teens and they're not studying.

Punch You In The Eye

Yay Isles season start tonight.. and I'm so excited to already read from my fellow fans "I hope they lose for better draft positioning" in September.

I just had to show someone how the elevator works. They were insisting that it doesn't go to the floor above. I got into the elevator, pressed the button and told them to wait and it will go up. Did I mention people move here for the superior schools?

For the longest time I thought the lyric in Bette Davis Eyes was "All the boys think she's a spaz.."

I love it when someone in the library asks me a question with their Airpods on and then can't hear me. I didn't approach you, you approached me!

It almost sounds like Abe Laboriel Jr. was just sitting in and isn't actually a permanent member of Pearl Jam.. ?

Hello good humans,

Just a quick note on this Monday morning to thank each and everyone who came out to Ohana Fest this year. Three days of great groups, all of whom were further energized by the pumped up vibes from a perfect crowd. You all made our tenth year so special and we are GRATEFUL.

Also wanted to extend our further appreciation to Abe Laboriel Jr. sitting in on drums for PJ.
It was a joy to play with him, and he’s obviously extraordinary at his craft. The man works and PLAYS hard.

It is no wonder he’s been with the ultimate Maestro Paul McCartney and his mind blowing band for decades. Thank you so much for this weekend Abe. And thank YOU Paul. We owe you big time.

This new thing where companies give you a few minutes after you hit "pay now" to edit your order is great.

Long Island Cares is a food bank which was founded by Harry Chapin. www.licares.org Yes, the Cat's in the Cradle guy. I get so annoyed when I see what this turd did to his theater at the park.

@ithinkthere4iyem.bsky.social what a nice little note you put in there and I appreciate the extra gifts! 🎸 ⭕ @nyillini311.bsky.social

Well I think after all this rain we can safely say the drought is over.

I've been watching "Rein Me In" by Sam Fender & Olivia Dean sit on the UK charts for months and I think it's heading to the US? Well if most people here somehow escaped hearing "Choosin' Texas" they'll probably miss this too.

A coworker asked me not to ruin Jets score for them and I felt like saying, just assume they're going to always going to lose and then be pleasantly surprised? 😀

Well first time I have had to put "Water leak in Children's room" on my daily report when I'm in charge of the library..

Love to be up since 4am when I don't have to be at work until noon. 🫠

Vibes feel pretty shitty in preseason for the Islanders. It's going to be another long season for us. Well, at least the company at UBS is good.
