Leader GiaQuinta's statement on the 30-day suspension of the gas tax. "Hoosiers are tired of unstrategic and unfocused foreign wars that cost American lives, drive up gas prices and raise the cost of living."

We stand in solidarity with the BP & NIPSCO workers in USW Locals 7-1, 12775, & 13796. Nearly 2500 workers have been locked out as they stand up for better pay & working conditions. We will always support labor as they fight to make corporations pay workers their fair share.

Good news: The US Supreme Court just ruled against tariffs. This tax on American families is going away! We need a trade policy that keeps jobs here and our manufacturing industry strong - not one that taxes the average American family $1200 a year.

Indiana needs to fund its health care and child care programs - not more corporate welfare.

This is your reminder that Indiana will have a $5 billion surplus by 2027 but somehow can’t find the money to keep child care facilities open.

This vote further weakens local control and shuts Hoosiers out of decisions that affect their own communities.

House Republicans just voted to let large projects like data centers, solar farms, oil refineries and smelting plants be built on certain farmland in Indiana. In HB 1333, if the soil quality is poor, these projects can move forward automatically, without public hearings or community input.

Indiana House Republicans just voted against giving you the same sales tax exemption on your utility bill that data centers have. If data centers don't have to pay the 7% sales tax, neither should you.

Why Applebee's gets more from Indiana's tax cuts than you do | Opinion
Homeowners will see modest short-term savings, then likely pay more through local income taxes. Businesses got a massive, permanent tax windfall.

Indiana House Democrats @inhousedemocrats.bsky.social · 20/01/2026
Nothing against Applebee's, but businesses should not have been the winner of the so-called HOMEOWNER property tax relief bill. Both renters and homeowners will end up paying more in taxes than they save because of SEA 1, all while public schools and public safety agencies are worse off.

We've known The Region could be a world-class sports destination for a while now. That's why State Rep. Earl Harris authored House Enrolled Act 1292, which established the Northwest Indiana Professional Sports Development Commission to attract a professional sports franchise to Northwest Indiana.

House Republicans just released their proposed congressional map. This won't make life more affordable. Most Hoosiers will tell you that the government does little for them. How does a new map make government more efficient? It doesn't.

Let's get serious about bringing down utility costs this session. The legislature holds the power to ensure utility companies are actually being accountable to their ratepayers - but will the supermajority be brave enough to do that?
110
Indiana House Democrats @inhousedemocrats.bsky.social · 17/11/2025
NEW: Hoosiers' average annual electricity bills grew more than in any other state this year. You're paying $260 total more than last year 🤯 A 16.3% growth in your electricity bill over the course of one year is MUCH higher than the rate of inflation.

SNAP delays hit Indiana. Partial payments coming
Indiana SNAP recipients should expect November delays as FSSA reviews federal guidance to issue partial payments, prompting food banks and cities to expand aid.

SNAP benefits are delayed and reduced for November. This is why we asked Gov. Braun and Statehouse Republicans to give our state food banks additional money. Hoosiers deserve better than this. 🔗⬇️
