Leader GiaQuinta's statement on the 30-day suspension of the gas tax. "Hoosiers are tired of unstrategic and unfocused foreign wars that cost American lives, drive up gas prices and raise the cost of living."

We stand in solidarity with the BP & NIPSCO workers in USW Locals 7-1, 12775, & 13796. Nearly 2500 workers have been locked out as they stand up for better pay & working conditions. We will always support labor as they fight to make corporations pay workers their fair share.

Good news: The US Supreme Court just ruled against tariffs. This tax on American families is going away! We need a trade policy that keeps jobs here and our manufacturing industry strong - not one that taxes the average American family $1200 a year.

Indiana needs to fund its health care and child care programs - not more corporate welfare.

This is your reminder that Indiana will have a $5 billion surplus by 2027 but somehow can’t find the money to keep child care facilities open.

House Republicans just voted to let large projects like data centers, solar farms, oil refineries and smelting plants be built on certain farmland in Indiana. In HB 1333, if the soil quality is poor, these projects can move forward automatically, without public hearings or community input.

Indiana House Republicans just voted against giving you the same sales tax exemption on your utility bill that data centers have. If data centers don't have to pay the 7% sales tax, neither should you.

Nothing against Applebee's, but businesses should not have been the winner of the so-called HOMEOWNER property tax relief bill. Both renters and homeowners will end up paying more in taxes than they save because of SEA 1, all while public schools and public safety agencies are worse off.

Hi, it's us, we're "some Indiana lawmakers" 👋 The people approving or denying utility rate hikes should be accountable to Hoosier voters. It's that simple. www.ibj.com/articles/sho...

Week 1 of the regularly scheduled 2026 legislative session is in the books. This week, we introduced our Working Hoosiers Agenda to create a future you can afford.

Hoosiers don't care that the State of Indiana has a AAA credit rating if they can't afford insurance premiums or utility bills.

Problem: High utility bills One solution: Repeal the 7% sales tax on residential utility bills! Let's get it done for Hoosier wallets.

"If we can give data centers an exemption from paying sales tax on their utility bill, why can't we do the same for residential customers?" -House Democratic Leader Phil GiaQuinta

We've known The Region could be a world-class sports destination for a while now. That's why State Rep. Earl Harris authored House Enrolled Act 1292, which established the Northwest Indiana Professional Sports Development Commission to attract a professional sports franchise to Northwest Indiana.

When given the opportunity to keep 20 million Americans' health insurance premiums down, congressional Republicans said NO. You shouldn't have to pay more for worse care.

The gerrymandered maps passed out of the House via a 57-41 vote. Thanks for all your advocacy, Hoosiers. Now, it's time to reach out to your state senator to let them know how you feel about redistricting.

New political maps don't pay your utility bill or put food on the table.

Tomorrow, House Republicans seem ready to push through new congressional maps with no clue how much it could cost local governments and counties.

LIVE from the House Elections Committee: Rep. Smaltz, author of the redistricting bill, says they “only considered political advantage” when drawing the proposed maps. House Republicans are not concerned about helping Hoosiers — only helping themselves.

House Republicans just released their proposed congressional map. This won't make life more affordable. Most Hoosiers will tell you that the government does little for them. How does a new map make government more efficient? It doesn't.

NEW: Hoosiers' average annual electricity bills grew more than in any other state this year. You're paying $260 total more than last year 🤯 A 16.3% growth in your electricity bill over the course of one year is MUCH higher than the rate of inflation.

Utility bills are rising for Hoosiers as it gets colder out. This is why Rep. @cherrishpryor.bsky.social offered an amendment this spring to freeze rate hikes for one year. Indiana House Republicans said no! 👎

SNAP benefits are delayed and reduced for November. This is why we asked Gov. Braun and Statehouse Republicans to give our state food banks additional money. Hoosiers deserve better than this. 🔗⬇️

UPDATE: Two federal judges have ruled withholding SNAP benefits to be unlawful. Our caucus will continue to monitor the situation to ensure no Hoosier goes hungry due to the shutdown.

Hundreds of thousands of Hoosiers will lose SNAP benefits TOMORROW. We're calling on Gov. Braun to keep Hoosiers from going hungry by funding Indiana food pantries throughout the federal government shutdown.

Like Representative Gregory Porter said yesterday while proposing the use of state funds to cover SNAP, we have a rainy day fund for a reason, and it's now storming! We will continue pushing to use our state savings to keep over half a million Hoosiers from going hungry.

If you've already called or emailed about redistricting, ask your friends and family all across our state to get in touch with their state reps and senators. It's all 150 legislators' jobs to listen to their constituents - so let's make sure they've heard from as many Hoosiers as possible!

Why are we letting D.C. elites order us around when Indiana's cost of living is skyrocketing? Instead of spending taxpayer $ on a fake problem, our state should focus on making life more affordable for Hoosiers. Property taxes, utility bills, and healthcare costs need fixing!

🚨 BREAKING: Gov. Braun has called a special session to redraw IN's congressional maps. Hoosiers don't want new political maps. Hoosiers want their utility bills, property taxes, and health care costs fixed.

Hoosiers need a special session to bring down utility bills, not a special session to redraw political maps. Our state leaders should focus on helping you get by, not helping themselves out.
