I was pleased to join First Nations leaders, rights-holders and partners at the Assembly of First Nations’4th National Climate Gathering. Our recent report with the AFN and today’s conversations made one thing clear: climate emergencies are also #housing and #HumanRights emergencies.

Canada’s current National Housing Strategy is set to end in 2027–2028, a decade after it was first enacted. As the government looks towards the Strategy’s renewal, now is an opportunity to build on lessons learned.
