Philly e-bike rider here:A lot of ebikes are not the correct size of bicycle for the person riding them, so pedaling is uncomfortable and awkward ergonomically and your legs cramp up. People buy eBikes for cheap and they get stolen, so they’re not gonna invest in a bike that’s the right size.

If our goal is to make positive social change, we need to focus on protecting democracy by building institutional trust. This means that we must support leaders who don’t just want to be self-aggrandizing populist firebrands. Discerning who is for real and who in for personal gain is essential.

Any time there is a system of legalism and potential for somebody to gain power within a community, Mal actors will figure out how to work within that system to elevate themselves. Communities need safeguards in place to prevent this, and clearly this one doesn’t. I see it all the time in churches.
