That only solves part of the problem,but must be done and in a permanent way the next rich-guy president and obedient Congress can’t undo. We’re in a deep hole and need to not only stop digging, but fill that hole back in. Unfortunately there’s no way to avoid at least a few years of austerity now.

I disagree with him on one point. This money doesn’t exist. It’s borrowed on the backs of our children and grandchildren (and older selves). It can’t go to those causes he speaks of as much as I support them. Without achieving a new baseline of fiscal stability, we can’t do the good things.
