I used to say it was the honor of my lifetime to work at the CFPB. But today, that’s been surpassed by an even greater one: running to represent the people of #MD06 with the powerful backing of the incredible union workers at the CFPB @nteu335.bsky.social Love you all so much. Let’s win this! ✊❤️

PROUDLY ENDORSED BY THE CFPB UNION CFPB UNION
NTEU 335“While DOGE bullied top CFPB management officials into bypassing cybersecurity policies to grant them unauthorized access to CFPB systems, while I was on the phone begging top Banking Committee Senators to exercise their oversight authority and come to CFPB headquarters to monitor DOGE and they refused, Alexis was one public servant who actually tried to do what we were all trained to do and swore an oath to do: protect the American public.
Alexis is one of the most knowledgeable, deeply experienced, formidable, and impassioned consumer financial protection advocates the agency has known. We are proud to endorse her for Congress in Maryland's 6th district.”

Data centers drain local resources and hike up our electricity bills by staggering amounts. Let's ban AI data centers and redirect those federal funds where they are needed: making childcare free and building affordable housing.

People in Maryland’s 6th district #MD06 are hurting, they’re mad, and they need resources. What they don’t need is two billionaires squabbling over who gets to buy back their old seat in Congress. Vote for me on June 23: ElectAlexis.org

So so SO honored to read this sentence in @prospect.org about my campaign for Congress: prospect.org/2026/06/18/o... “If a lab could create the perfect congressional candidate for a particular district at this political moment, it might spit out Alexis Goldstein.” #MD06
Screenshot from the Prospect.org: “If a lab could create the perfect congressional candidate for a particular district at this political moment, it might spit out Alexis Goldstein. She was a federal worker who was fired amid the Trump administration's push to cripple the administrative state, and she's running in the Sixth Congressional District in Maryland, a state full of federal workers downsized in the DOGE push.
Goldstein, a former program manager in the chief technologist's office at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, was fired, in fact, for
confronting DOGE functionaries at the
CFPB offices last February.”

JUNE 18, 2026Screenshot from prospect.org page 2: “Plus, Goldstein is a highly skilled financial analyst—she worked as a programmer on Wall Street before quitting to join Occupy Wall Street in 2010—at a time when one of the most operatic and unusual financial schemes of the century is playing out in the highly leveraged data center build-out. Practically nobody in the government would have more unique knowledge to understand the dangers.
"This is all being built by debt," she told me. "It's going to lead to consolidation after the crash and a bailout request, and will there be any conditions on that bailout? That's what keeps me up at night."
It all sounds great, until you see the $32 million sitting between her and electoral success.”

In Maryland, a billionaire is trying to get his seat back from a mega-millionaire. It’s the epitome of a broken campaign finance system. Is there a way out?

Proud to be endorsed by NTEU Chapter 282 — the FDA Union. In Congress, I’ll fight to protect federal workers, strengthen collective bargaining rights, defend whistleblowers, and take on corporate interests. Thank you, FDA Union. Let’s win this together. ✊ #md06

CHAPTER 282
Alexis Goldstein is a fierce fighter not only for federal workers, but for all working families. She has her finger on the pulse of the critical issues impacting our communities.
From demanding regulatory accountability for Big Tech to addressing the aggressive expansion of data centers in our neighborhoods, Alexis will ensure the people's voices are heard in Washington.
As a former federal employee and union leader, Alexis brings a crucial perspective that is too often missing when legislation impacting our civil service is drafted and debated. She is the leader we need to organize our communities and stop billionaire interests from steamrolling struggling families.

*Phenomenal* Congressional testimony by Dr. Sarah Meyers West of @ainowinstitute.bsky.social laying out how big tech has taken on “astronomical capital expenditures” in the “race to the bottom” where tech firms expect all the risks to be born by the public. www.banking.senate.gov/imo/media/do...
To paint a picture of just how substantial these expenditures have grown: In the first quarter of 2026, Amazon, Google, Meta, and Microsoft reported spending $130.65 billion in capital expenditures for data centers—71 percent higher than what they spent during the same quarter of 2025.

These four companies anticipate spending approximately $700 billion this year." Morgan Stanley analysts project that combined, Big Tech companies will spend nearly $3 trillion through 2028, but only generate half of that amount in cash."?

To finance this buildout, tech companies are taking on an increased amount of debt: in 2025, big tech firms issued $121 billion in new debt, but this number is anticipated to balloon in the years to come: Morgan Stanley is estimating debt issuance will top S500 billion this year. Some of this debt is structured through standard corporate bonds. But a growing share is being supplied by increasingly complex, risky, and opaque financial arrangements. Private equity firms are key conduits for the vast amounts of capital going into data centers. In 2025, private equity

Hi! I’m Alexis, and I’m running for U.S. Congress to represent #MD06. I’m a technologist, finance nerd, former regulator, and queer mom of 2. I’m not afraid of holding bullies accountable & my experience makes me uniquely qualified to do just that in Congress.

When Russell Thurlow Vought had to answer questions about stealing (impounding) funds, he tried to distract by pointing to what sounds like an AMAZING program to promote housing for trans people called “Sashay the Runway” like that’s a bad thing. I was behind him so I sashayed away. 🫰🏳️‍🌈

It was great to speak with the Frederick News Post about my run for Congress in #MD06! My degree in computer science + 7 years of experience working on Wall Street prior to the 2008 crisis has left me stridently opposed to the construction of AI data centers. Learn more at ElectAlexis.org ❤️

A degree in computer science and seven years of experience working as a computer programmer on Wall Street in the years leading up to the financial crisis has left her "stridently opposed" to the construction of data centers, she said.
The frenzy around artificial intelligence and amount of debt being used to construct the centers reminds her of the atmosphere around the time of the 2008 crisis, she said.
She said she's concerned about a possible financial crisis brought on by the bursting of a bubble built around the development of Al.
When the bubble bursts, it will have a major impact on the economy, she said.
"I see it as this debt mountain that will
eventually come due," she said.

During the Biden admin, 12 officials publicly resigned over the catastrophic failure in Gaza, inclu. @habash.bsky.social @lilygreenbergcall.bsky.social They used their best leverage & biggest mic to try to get Biden to stop arming a genocide. Their words are prescient: www.cnn.com/2024/07/02/p...

CNN Politics article from July 2024:

“‘as our nation celebrates its Indegendence Day, each of us are reminded that we resigned from government not to terminate that oath but to continue to abide by it; not to end our commitment to service, but to extend it.’
‘The [Biden] Administration's policy in Gaza is a failure and a threat to U.S. national security,’ they write in the joint statement, titled
"Service in Dissent."
"America's diplomatic cover for, and continuous flow of arms to, Israel has ensured our undeniable complicity in the killings and forced starvation of a besieged Palestinian population in Gaza. This is not only morally reprehensible and in clear violation of international humanitarian law and U.S. laws,

“Every day shows how many mansions there are in this hell.” — Harriet Martineau. Retrospective of Western Travel, Vol. 1, 1838 www.loc.gov/item/01027893/

Excerpt from Retrospect of western travel. By Harriet Martineau, Volume 1 http://www.loc.gov/resource/ihbtn.7893a

We next entered a number of fine houses, where we were presented with flowers, and entertained with lively talk about the small affairs of gay society, which to little minds are great. To me every laugh had lost its gayety, every courtesy had lost its grace, all intercourse had lost its innocence. It was a relief to think of Grimké in his grave, escaped from the hell in which we were pent. If there be a scene which might stagger the faith of the spirit of Christianity itself; if there be an experience which might overthrow its serenity, it is the transition from the slavemarket to the abodes of the slavemasters, bright with sunshine, and gay with flowers, with courtesies, and mirth.
If the moral gloom which oppresses the spirit of the stranger were felt by the residents. of course this condition of society would not endure another day. Much trouble is experienced, and there are many sighs over the system; but the anxiety is not to any great number what it was to the sisters of Grimke; such a poisoner of life as to induce them to sacrifice property, home, friends, and repose, in order to obtain ease of mind for themselves, and to do something towards destroying the curse by which their native region is blighted. Every day shows how many mansions there are in this hell; how variously the universally allowed evil visits minds of different strength and discernment. All suffer, from the frivolous and sophisticated child to the far-seeing and disciplined saint. The difficulty is to have patience with the diversity, and to wait, as God waits, till the moral gloom strikes upon every heart, and causes every eye to turn for light where some already see it. At the same hour when the customary sins of the slavemarket were being perpetrated, hundreds of the little people of Charleston were preparing for their childish pleasures…
