As the U.S. Dept. of Education’s #LINCS platform grew, infrastructure complexity increased. CivicActions streamlined operations by reducing servers from 6 to 4—and is now re-engineering the platform with Infrastructure as Code for automated, consistent deployments.

Drupal isn’t just a CMS to us. What the Drupal community makes possible: 📌 Long-term stewardship instead of short-term fixes
 📌 A contrib-first culture 📌 A modular architecture 📌 An API-first foundation 📌 Ongoing evolution

CivicLabs Roundtable Series: Defining Ethical AI

A collaborative conversation between government and industry

As AI increasingly drives government systems and decisions, we need a clear, actionable definition of ethical AI—one shaped by both public interest and technical reality. This conversation lays the groundwork for shared standards and real-world implementation.

A recording of this conversation will be made available after January 22, 2026

“Modular open source isn’t just about saving costs; it’s about digital sovereignty. By building with reusable FOSS components, governments ensure that their digital infrastructure is an asset they actually own, rather than a service they are perpetually renting.” - Aaron Pava, CXO #FOSS

This July, we come together at CivicActions to celebrate Disability Pride Month! July marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities. Below is the Disability Pride Flag. #DisabilityPrideMonth #a11y #Accessibility
Disability pride flag with red, yellow, white, blue, and green stripes across a charcoal background. The Disability Pride Flag is designed to show that disability spans borders between states and nations. It is set against a black field, mourning the victims of ableist violence. It is crossed with a diagonal band, cutting across the barriers that have separated disabled people from society. The band is comprised of stripes of red (physical), gold (neurodivergence), white (invisible & undiagnosed), blue (psychiatric) and green (sensory).
