Cambridge South was built as a destination station, designed to ease pressure on the roads around us and help people get here from further afield more easily, and as such the station has no car parking facilities. There are, however, 1000 bike parking spaces.

Today we welcomed our first Monday train commuters using the new Cambridge South Railway Station to come to our Campus. The new station provides direct connection to 69 destinations and adds another sustainable travel option for many of the 37,000+ people who visit our site each day.

The works on the Campus side were expected to be finished but have been delayed due to materials being held up by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. We appreciate that this will be disappointing and we apologise for any inconvenience, but we need to prioritise safety.

The County Council, construction partners and landowners have been trying to find a solution and will continue to work together to explore any ways this date can be brought forward.

This means that the buses can now use the bridge, but the path for pedestrians and cyclists has had to remain closed until the issue is resolved. The path closure is expected to continue until at least Saturday 9th May. We will update as we know more.

Unfortunately whilst the planned Busway Safety Works are now complete on the bridge, there have been some unexpected safety issues at the junction where the Busway meets Francis Crick Avenue, associated with the construction of the train station.
