Still growing 🌱

Digital painting of me, sitting on the ground with my knees bent to my chest and my arms embracing them. The character's head is resting on one knee and watching a sapling of black poplar tree that was planted next to them. They have light skin, short ashy brown hair, green eyes, and are wearing folk clothing from the Dalmatian hinterland, which consist of a white shirt with wide sleeves, a black vest with red embroidery, black pants tucked into long white woolly socks, and hide shoes. They also have a cylindrical cap with red top and black sides and a tassel on the back. The character looks peaceful and has a slight smile. There is "Populus nigra" written above the sapling. The signature on the painting says "Snowy Avis, Avg.'26"

I went to my family's home region recently, and more importantly forced my father to visit it (something he's been avoiding to do in over 30 years). Needless to say, there's a level of peace your mind finds when it's at the right spot even when everything else seems so bleak over there.

Belated happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ from my partners and me in our folk clothing

Digital painting of me and my two partners in our folk clothing, laying next to eachother. One of my partners is laying upside down with their face in the middle, they have light skin, hazel eyes, short red hair and are wearing folk clothing from Slovakia which consist of a short White shirt with wide sleeves and golden embroidery, a red vest with black fur on the edges and with black and green circular embroidery, and a flat hat. They have a non-binary flag drawn on their cheek and are holding a polyamorous flag in ther left hand. They have a wide happy smile.
My other partner is on the right, he has light skin, blue eyes, and curly brown beard and mustache and long brown hair. He is wearing clothes from Slovenia, with a white shirt, yellow overcoat and a wide brim hat with a flower. He has the pansexual flag on his cheek. He is smiling and his arms are spread out.
I am on the left, I have light skin, green eyes and chin long gray-brown hair. I am laying more sideways so half of my face is hidden behind my partner's hair, and I am holding my hand on my other partner's shoulder. I have clothing from Dalmatia, with a white shirt with poofy sleeves, a black vest with red edges and embroidery, and a cylindrical cap with black sides and red top with black tassels on the back. I have gray-asexual flag on my cheek with a bisexual flag heart drawn over it.
The background is green with a rainbow flag. The signature in the upper left corner says "Snowy Avis, jul.2026"

Yea, it was my assumption as well. I guess there is simply more depth and exploration given to characters and as such it's easier to find the stories more relatable and meaningful.

Although shounen works are usually quite emotional, there's certainly a type of underlying emotional gentleness and insight that these works have, that I don't think I've ever seen in a shounen written by a man. Like the stories really stick with you in a different way.

Not to like stereotype or something but I don't think it's a coincidence that among my favourite shounen anime/manga almost all are written by women (Fullmetal Alchemist, Blue Exorcist, Noragami)

Dan vidnosti trans oseb 🏳️‍⚧️

A digital painting showing a kurent, a traditional carnival mask from Slovenia which is covered in white fur and has feathers and colourful strips on the head. They are holding a trans pride flag in one hand, and a bunch of kerchiefs in other pride colours: non-binary, genderfluid, genderqueer, agender, demigirl, demiboy. The colourful strips on the head are also in trans pride colours. The signature says "SnowyAvis, 2026"

Fisherman

Digital painting of my character Hajro, standing on a wooden boat and holding a fishing net with both of his hands. Hajro has dark skin and dark curly hair, and is wearing a wide white shirt, black dimiy pants, a red belt, and a red headband tied left from his face and falling down his shoulder. He is looking at the fishnet and looks focused and calm. The background features the sea with some rocks sticking out and the weather seems nice but slightly cloudy. The signature in the corner says "Snowy Avis, Feb. 2026"
