Masculinity in the 80s

I've made a lot of jokes over the years about being small, but its a little frustrating that a lot of the road blocks I've been hitting (medically) over the last few months in the hospital often just come down to "you're tiny". Literally just too smol for most of their equipment.

Hey, everyone. Amira's partner here. They was close to be decannulated (trach removed). Unfortunately, something happened and their lung collapsed. They had to go back to the ICU and are in 5a ventilator again. We're hoping for a quick recovery.

I'm officially off the ventilator! As I no longer need as specialized care I've been moved to yet another facility to continue speech and physical therapy until I'm able to go home :) Soon 👁👁

Lil update from me, actually Amira! Its not been the smoothest but I get to be sitting up and off the ventilator for a few hours a day now. They even let me drink some water yesterday! I appreciate those who have sent well wishes :) Still recovering but hope to be back home and drawing soon!

Several days ago Amira was transferred to yet another facility to relearn to breathe, drink, move etc. They were doing well initially but had a few complications. As of this morning they are hopefully on the right track again. Please be patient and keep them in your thoughts.

Update on Amira: They needed to undergo a tracheostomy yesterday. Everything went well and they are working on recovery. This will hopefully allow them both time off the ventilator and to hopefully go home sooner.

To any friends of Amira's here, this is their partner. In the wee hours of yesterday morning we had to take them to the ER. They are currently in the ICU and will be for a few days. Don't worry, they seem to be on the up and up, and will return to making comics and talking to friends soon.
