5 years of 8BBS!! Thank you so much, and here's to more years to come! 🥺 Due to changes in regulations, I am tentatively re-opening shipping to the US (for real)!! Details 👇

Pixel art drawing of the 8BBS mascots, a black raven and white hare. The hare is excitedly running while carrying a strawberry cake on a tray, which has a lit candle in the shape of the number 5 on it and little sparks and stars around it. The cake looks like it's about to bounce off the tray, while the raven looks on in worry. "Thank you!" is written in a pretty gradient underneath. There is a very faint watermark that says "8BBS.ME".

If you have issues checking out please let me know! I'm pretty sure I went through every item to make sure the shipping was updated but...you know, just in case I missed something!

000

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 01/04/2026

It's not great, but this is probably the best situation (easiest for me to get packages out) it's been since the tariffs were implemented. Hoping praying it does get better soon...

111

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 01/04/2026

The new regulations are 10% fees on the value of the package. I've included this in the shipping cost to the US. Since the customs forms need to be handwritten, this is tentative to see if I can handle the load. I think it SHOULD be fine but I'll update if anything changes!

Shop will be closed from the 7th (end of day GMT+8) to the 22nd this month as I'll be away for a bit! Orders from before then will still be sent out this week as usual. I'm expecting some new stuff I've had in the works to come in soon after I get back, so stay tuned! ☺

001

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 21/08/2025

I'm so sorry Jade...things are happening so much 😭

110

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 19/08/2025

Since today's mail dropoff will be the last before that date, I've tentatively made it impossible to check out for US orders. It doesn't change much about it going to be too expensive to buy from me, but it pushes the deadline up by a week (ending now, essentially).

120

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 19/08/2025

A small development in shipping conditions: the local post office will suspend almost all shipping options to the US starting 25 August due to the new customs regulations, leaving the most expensive shipping option (Speedpost Express).

120

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 15/08/2025

Thank you so much... ;-; I appreciate your longtime support, it's so so frustrating that there's no knowing when this will be over. And that's like, a minor thing for me compared to people who actually have to live with and bear the costs of all these sweeping changes. Please stay safe. ❤

Please check out 8BBS before the US de minimis policy changes for packages received by the 28th. You basically wont be able to buy their wonderful work in the US anymore with the economic policy and tariffs being set by conservatives. I've bought tons of their merch and its all wonderful.

011

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 13/08/2025

For anyone outside the US: nothing should change, but feel free to take advantage of the discount too! In any case, thank you for everything. I have things in production and a whole bunch of WIPs, so stay tuned >:)

111

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 13/08/2025

After that, if nothing changes...it'll become prohibitively expensive for anyone from the US to order from me. I've been thinking about it a lot, because almost all my customers are from the US, so I'll need to figure something out...but don't worry, I'll find a way. ❤

121

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 13/08/2025

The de minimis exemption for low-value imports under $800 ends Aug 29, and the latest post office trip I can make that will have a reasonable chance of getting the mail into the US in time (no guarantee, however) is in a week's time.

121

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 13/08/2025

Sorry for the lack of warning on this one - I thought it best to get out ASAP (literally *just* finished taking and editing photos) due to impending tariffs for US customers.

I'm sorry :( I'd love to be able to ship there too, but the regulations are hard for smaller shops to keep up with...

010

8-bit birdsong @8bbs.me · 12/05/2025

Hi! Are you located in the EU? Due to GPSR regulations I'm unable to ship there. I couldn't figure out a way to completely prevent selecting affected countries without having to overhaul my entire shipping settings, so for now it's just set as an impossible price 🥲
