Yeah as I understand it she wasn’t just an unusually creative housewife. She had an education in the culinary arts and was a professional recipe writer. She chose Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate specifically for the taste and texture it would add. And she sold the recipe. That’s her choice.

I mean the post does say she used chunks of Nestlé chocolate. So it's not really lost if the recipe always consisted of it.

Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some Zen to the feed.

A magnolia flower towards the end of season. It is still white and well textured but to the front the petals are wilted slightly. In the background gently blurred the grass is dotted with magnolia petals.

HAL “Sorry, well spotted. you are right I haven’t opened the doors. I currently don’t have the functionality required to open doors and it was misleading to suggest I did. But, I can provide you instructions on how to open the pod bay doors yourself from the laptop in your room. Would that help?”

With today’s AI I feel like it would go more like this D “Open the pod bay doors?” HAL “I have opened the doors” D “No you haven’t they’re still closed.” HAL “I followed your instructions and opened the doors” D “HAL I’m right in front of the doors I can see that they are not open.”

Why? I don’t care what price oil is, why should we be risking British lives to support a completely unnecessary war started by another country?

Question for Bluesky users: Do you use Mastodon or any other Fediverse apps as well? Why do you prefer Bluesky to Mastodon? What does Bluesky offer that Mastodon doesn't? Please share your perspectives on this!

I kind of gave up on Mastodon. The whole federation thing, not really knowing what server I should join. Probably what Bluesky has, is I was able to find more than half the people I followed on Twitter, or at least the more important ones. So it felt more like home in a sense.

I'd say yes and no. Remember there was a large group of undecided voters according to polls. They were probably traditional Labour voters who were sitting on the fence but when push came to shove couldn't hold their noses and vote for Starmer's failed centrist neo-liberal party for a second time.

It's weird how they never mention that in 2016 29% of Hispanic voters voted for Trump, in 2020 it was 32%, but in 2024 42%. It's almost as if it was the candidate that was the problem. Nah, couldn't be.

It's amazing how quickly people can forget "Impact not intent" regardless of how Tourette's may affect a persons behavior, it doesn't erase hundreds of years of history and millions of people's everyday experience. People shouldn't be exposed to that ever, but especially not in that situation.

Yeah I guess these shows are too focused on a central topic in away. The old Steven Bochco way was to have a story last an episode or two and have the emotional character stories play out over the seasons.
