Thanks for making me remember the Death Dogs from Willow (1988). I'd had nightmares about wolves before and man, adding these things to the mix did NOT help.
A death dog mid-gallop. It looks like a mix between a wolf and a boar, but with a weirdly human eyebrow situation going on. This still image does no justice to how much their fast, dog-like, bounding run adds to the horror inflicted upon a small child.

They got 'em in cans too, if you were worried about sunlight affecting their shelf life.
A truly demonic creation: Canned hot dogs by German brand Meica. One of these bad boys holds 33 loathsome meat tubes and weighs in at 2.9kg (102oz), or 1.65kg (58oz) pure sausage if you drain the liquid. The package design implies some loose US-American-ness, but proudly announces they were made in Germany, a country not generally known for using quality meat in their low end bulk products.

Oh heck yes, the whole thing is on the Internet archive archive.org/details/book...
Close up of a page from "The book of days, a miscellany of popular antiquities in connection with the calendar, including anecdote, biography, & history, curiosities of literature and oddities of human life and character". It shows an etching depicting several 19th century dudes being guys; one of them dancing in the street, another pushing a chair like a wheelbarrow, and yet another heavily sighing while having his shoes cleaned. Their faces all look like something out of a Love-de-Lic game.

Ohhhh, that's fun! Definitely love the Dugtrio/Mousehold approach to the full evolution. Got me thinking "what specifically would prompt the 'Miss' in the evolution name" and
The three evolution forms of the Pokémon Miss Cigarettes from left to right:
The starting form is "Rolupp", a hand rolled cigarette with wild tobacco hair popping out of the top and a dumb smirk on its face that sits on the upper portion of the cigarette.
The first evolution is "Filta", a lit filter cigarette with an angry face. That's pretty much it.
The final evolution is Miss Cigarettes, a filterless cigarette whose lower body is now a cigarette holder (commonly seen as a femme fashion accessory in the 20th century). She emits wispy smoke from the top that looks somewhat hairlike. Her smile is worn and her eyes are tired. She also has cigarette butts for arms that are bent to look like she has elbows. She is very tall, so that one could imagine she'd constantly have to lean diagonally to fit onto the screen during battles.

This account is now a MICAN Stan account. If your mascot is not a dog that is also a mandarin orange, I'm not interested.
An abridged screenshot of Mican's profile. It shows an illustration of Mican at the top with the following information below.

Still thinking about those Sully children and their parents.
A screengrab from The Rehearsal s02e03 "Pilot's Code". It shows Nathan rehearsing the life of young Chesley Burnett "Sully" Sullenberger III in a scene together with his grotesquely proportioned parents and his sister, who has a face like the lady in the radiator from Eraserhead.

Congrats (?) to the guy but TMI
A cropped screenshot of the ugmonk website's About page. It shows a black and white image of a guy gazing downward (in concentration? Sleepiness? Abject suffering? Your guess is as good a mine, but in the full version he is in fact writing something down).
Next to him there's a floating badge that says in circular path script: USED BY OVER 10,000 PEOPLE.

Definitely not fantasy, but I keep scouring used book sites for an edition of A Canticle for Leibowitz with this cover because it slaps so hard.
Cover of an 80s paperback edition of A Canticle for Leibowitz by Walter M. Miller, Jr.
Front and center is a shadowy bishop-like figure whose only visible features are a mitre, some kind of open pallium and an ornate, metal chosier with a cross inlay. He is walking toward a cross-shaped space ship in the background with stained glass window elements, which seems to be dispensing monks sitting on little flying saucers.
The middle ground features two dark gothic church towers to the left and ruins with impossibly intact stained glass windows to the right. The whole scene is cast in dark reddish and sickly yellow hues.

That's kinda it. Large-scale adoption of GenAI tools won't improve your work if you have any standards. In fact they'll eat up your time and undermine your expertise.
An excerpt from the linked article on aftermath.site. Quote:
It really weighed on the creativity of my role, and again, spat in the face of my expertise”, they say. “It wasn't just this though; the tool itself lacks the intent, context, and limitations of what we're doing. It doesn't have other aspects of the project, influences, references, or personal experiences in the back of its mind, because it doesn't have a mind.

Freg
A tiny brown baby frog (toad??) sits in the dirt. You can see just how tiny it is by some blades of grass and a pebble next to it. The pattern around its eyes makes it look a bit grumpy.

Second-hand records as well, somehow.
Close-up of the backside of a record sleeve. The album in question is A Drop of the Hard Stuff by the Dubliners.
A note has been written on it in gold ink. It says: "To Ina in memory of a golden weekend in Gütersloh."

Just found this old pic I edited years ago, and I cannot quite remember the context, but I'm fairly positive that the punchline was "time to dine."

Domhnall of Zena knew what's good.
A screenshot from Dark Souls 1. We see Domhnall of Zena, sitting cross-legged on the floor. He's wearing a ridiculously stylish set of armour, including glasses and long antelope horns on his helmet, a dagger on a chain slung around his shoulders, and a bunch of medals on his chest.

What the… computer, enhance!
A detail of John's selfie which has been slightly glitched for horror purposes. On top of his closet we see a black, hairy shape with no visible features. Is it a friend? Is it just watching? Or is it hiding out of John's sight, waiting for the right moment to strike? It is even alive? Does it have feelings that make sense to the human mind? We cannot possibly fathom what goes on inside that dark, indecipherable mass.

An image from the article. It shows a black and white close-up of a character's face with shoddy linework and unclear shapes. I know it's a cliché to ask "how does that hair work" in manga-style artwork, but this one is just baffling. Also a weird yellowish blob is nestled in the top right corner for some reason.
The caption reads: An image created by AI that learned from Tezuka’s works and real images, which served as a basis for the main character of “Paidon” (Provided by 2 Field).
A smaller caption below that reads, somewhat ironically: No reproduction or republication without written permission.

Mostly thanks to quitting Twitter when they scuttled TweetDeck, I've picked up some books I've had on my reading list for way too long. Currently going through Le Guin's Hainish books. They're all pretty dope so far, and this section from The Dispossessed made me go full Sickos meme.
Excerpt from chapter 5of The Dispossessed by Ursula K. Le Guin, 1974. It reads:
He tried to read an elementary economics text; it bored him past endurance, it was like listening to somebody interminably recounting a long and stupid dream. He could not force himself to understand how banks functioned and so forth, because all the operations of capitalism were as meaningless to him as the rites of a primitive religion, as barbaric, as elaborate, and as unnecessary. In a human sacrifice to deity there might be at least a mistaken and terrible beauty; in the rites of the moneychangers, where greed, laziness, and envy were assumed to move all men’s acts, even the terrible became banal.

Okay, I'm not really up on my reading, but when exactly did the ACTUAL Donovan turn into a JoJo villain?
Singer/songwriter Donovan sporting a bespoke purple robe with many tassels and colourful stitching around the sleeves. Underneath he wears a black shirt and two long bead necklaces, one of which appears to be made of little white skulls. He has shoulder-length white hair and longish fingernails, picking at a well-used green acoustic guitar with pearlescent runes set into the fretboard and a little grey horsey painted on the body. A black crescent symbol on Donovan's forehead completes the look.
