Final Thoughts: I wouldn't trust any facts beyond the barest outlines of the history in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. It's way too stylized to be credible but its expert direction, stellar cast, and solid production values make it a fine movie. A winner even if it flopped. #hatm

From what the Wikipedia page on Operation Postmaster says, this movie shouldn't have been so fictionalized. The real story is even more heroic. #hatm en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operati...

In a little leg holster that a dress can conceal. Southern women, on the other hand, would carry a .45 openly. #hatm

When you're out there on your own, no hope of backup, everything depends on local conditions. Nothing is within your control. Those SOE operatives ran incredible risks - unless they escaped, they faced torture then death. #hatm

Underwater sabotage was done by both sides in WWII. Best known operations: Jaywick, vs. Singapore 1943; Frankton, 1942 vs. Bordeaux; and the Italian operaiton against Alexandria 1941 - the latter would have been the greatest special operation ever if the divers hadn't been captured. #hatm

My favorite bit in the movie. But why would a British warship have a Swede onboard. I love it when the RN Commander knows what's going on. And yes a Dane would be able to respond in Swedish. The two aren't that far apart. #hatm
