Hi Tiara — it's Roger Lau. Our team at the DNC let me know that you're one of our most engaged grassroots supporters, and we can't thank you enough for staying up to date on our work.
We're in the final stretch now, and we wish we didn't have to ask more of you but today, we have to ask you to take the next step and chip in $7 to the DNC. But first,

I am not a food waster. Like if we eating I will literally eat close to everything even if it’s a struggle. But baybay! Exceptions must be made. Bc wtf NYC Chop in Long Beach, CA?! I am FROM NY and I knew better to get they food when they commodified chopped cheese Look at this sh!t!

Allegedly a chicken philly with onions, mayo, and ketchup. Allegedly.

What appears to be ground “meat” or something. It is red/pink on a sub-type roll, which was hard like pumice.

I want to give a better description but “cooked canned pet food” is all I can think of

September 8 was THE Ruby Bridges’ birthday. Ya know, the little 6 yr old girl who had to be escorted to school by federal marshalls bc wp were threatening her life just for going to “their” school. She is still alive and kicking. 72yrs old. Our history is not long ago in a place far away.

Bean’s internet grandma (from Sactown 👀) sent him this book full of African American stories like fables, fairy tales, and folk lore. She sent a Latin American one too. One story per week.

A hardcover blue book. It has a painting of a Black girl wearing pink clothes and a hat.

Title: The illustrated treasury of African American Read-Aloud Stories

Where does Bean get his confidence? (bc believe me, this child thinks VERY highly of himself and what he can do). This book helped. Another Internet Auntie sent Bean this book for his first birthday. We read it AM. Now he reads it himself. Well, recites it.

A thin soft covered book.

There is a drawing of a brown skin Black boy with a short/small afro. He is wearing a yellow top with red leaves and dark pants.

He is standing on grass.

He is pointing to himself with his thumbs.

Top text - title: I Am… (Positive Affirmations For Brown Boys).

Bottom text - author: Ayesha Rodriguez

Ain’t no way this isn’t that AI. They didn’t look like this on Station 19! They just too perfect. Actually, AI couldn’t do something like this. Them men are nature-made, hugged by the sun, dipped in ancestral strength.

TFW your local baker sponsors pastries for your event because they got a lowkey shoutout in your book AND included the character’s preferred treat.
