MacOS Tahoe, you're drunk, go home. Seen more graphics related bugs this year than in decades of using Macs combined. Last week, the application switcher icons wouldn't go away. Hoping things improve given Mr. Handbag has finally been sacked but I'm guessing we'll just get more AI garbage

The e-moto moral panic complaints by elderly boomers on facebook bike/bike path groups, summed up in a nutshell. There's a reason nearly every parking space facing a building has a giant orange metal pole at the front. It isn't bikes, ebikes, scooters, and emotos.

In honor of the Tate brothers being arrested to face new charges in the UK (unless you-know-who orders him released, of course, violating our expedition agreements), here's Mr. Andrew Looksmaxing Tate demonstrating what an incredible specimen he is.

Oooooo I also have a nav tip for those in back: don’t get into a fight with your second in command while approaching the harbor. If you want the more proactive approach, don’t sleep with their wife. The official cause was the captain mistaking a pole and sailboats for buoys

In the Metro Boston region the TNC companies increased low occupancy vehicle trips by 100,000,000 per year NOT including deadhead trips. There’s extensive evidence that TNCs have dramatically increased LOV trips (and congestion/pollution) and hurt public transit revenue in cities around the world.

Larry Ellison had CBS throw a “champagne toast” to boost moral at 60 Minutes. Of course one of the world’s richest men thinks that would help smooth things over. 50-50 odds on it being either really cheap or absurdly expensive champagne. These people do not live in the same world we do.

You were talking nonsense about reporters delaying stories for their books. I showed you it was in mainstream press in December. Grow up and own your mistakes.

PSA: when you post “advice” about how to ride in a thread about a dead cyclist, you are in fact victim blaming. Just like if you posted “cross the street when u see a man at night” in a thread about a woman being sexually assaulted would be considered victim blaming. Not “helpful advice.” 🧵

If people on slack, discord, reddit, or forums want to know what an AI vomits, they can ask it themselves. Don't know the answer to something? You can't evaluate the AI's answer. ~2y ago ChatGPT OpenAI would confidently tell you how many bears Russia launched into space. Dates names the works.

@alexvonwitzleben.bsky.social caught posting AI generated slop that anyone with the slightest background in alternative energy would recognize as BS and this fucking idiot is treated like an expert on Bluesky. How much of his other content is nonsense?

"You disabled self-driving because of some chaos, and you're now driving the car yourself. Let me put up a giant dialog box that blocks the entire UI and force you to tell me why you disabled the system!" This is what unbridled capitalism looks like. Tesla getting data is more important than lives.

Heads up to any brown folks who are #macadmins that the Mac Admins org has key members who are ICE/CBP collaborators and is not safe for you. Tony Young works for a company that provides services for CBP and is a subsidiary of a company that operates several immigrant detection facilities for ICE.

Ford parts website (www.ford.com/cl/parts) showing some of the coolant hoses, oil and water pumps, heat exchangers ('coolers'), and sensors for coolant & oil, in your MachE. Particularly funny you claim there's no coolant, because the MachE is infamous for insufficient cooling, limiting performance

I’m basing my comments off Geely’s very poor attempt to compete in the near-luxury market in the US aka Polestar which has been a dumpster fire for 5-6 years. Then there was this nonsense with the Xiaomi SU7 max sports car. Or the Chinese car programmed to slam on the brakes if a door opened.

Perfect illustration of everything wrong with the last generation of iOS and MacOS. How charged is my phone? No idea because A BRANCH IS IN THE WAY. What could have possibly gone wrong putting a handbag designer with no tech experience whatsoever in charge of HID? He was hired to design BOXES

35 years ago in GM dealerships you could find both the world's fastest production car, and...a Geo Metro. Around the same time GM decided to give a 50hp middle manager's car ~8x the power to make the world's fastest production sedan.

Faycal Manz seems to me to have thought filing lawsuits was part of the full American experience? Sued for salsa being too hot, Walmart for not allowing his phone to join their WiFi, and NYPD to being ambivalent. I’m not sure which is more absurd…

More open source AI slop bites the dust: Booklore's developer has been accused of vibecoding the whole thing. Their denial included part of the prompt 🤦‍♂️ Endless stuff like this, where they didn't trim out the LLM's response. On top of that they started trying to milk it for every $ they could...

I almost gave up trying to figure out what this was (finger got tired scrolling past cybertrucks and BMWs searching Google images for “ugly electric suv”) but I persevered. Zeeker 009? “Striking” indeed. As US southerners would say “bless its heart”

Why does stuffing bsky with “HE IS EVIL AND MUST BE STOPPED!!!” posts help him? You drown out posts linking to reporting and analysis about the administration’s actions & policies. Fascists interfere with journalism however they can, and his trolling posts are one of his tools. Literally propaganda.

Mystery solved! What got me labeled “pedo protector”: grumbling my feed (and discover feed) about non-stop reposts of Cadet Bone Spurs’ unhinged Christmas post. His unhinged social media posts are to drown out whatever he doesn’t want in the news cycle. Amplifying it on bsky literally helps him.

This is hilarious. At some point someone decided I was conservative and added me to moderation lists for blocking the you-know-who crowd (and a “disinformation risk”? What? My posts, replies, likes…all make it reaaaaaally clear I’m the polar opposite…

To disable Cloudflare's AI agent bullshit, click on "ask AI" then the slider icon and uncheck "view account."

🚨 Cloudflare just forcefully added an API key with complete READ perms to ALL accounts for their AI bot. Adding this without consent or notification is incredibly shit behavior on the part of @cloudflare.social. Also shit: the bot thinks its own key is an account compromise 🤦‍♂️

I feel like this is the “Obama made a /r/thanksobama video” moment for @nytpitchbot.bsky.social . Nothing they can post will top this insane NY Times summary deck. “Maybe his ego starting a war will have a side benefit”

Dear #Boston City Counselor Ed Flynn and anyone else who thinks that ebikes are "dangerous" and people operating them need to have licenses / registrations (when cops aren't even bothering to cite drivers for not having either?) (from @renzaro.com IG - you should follow them!) #bospol #mapol

Well that’s officially the first thing I’ve ever posted on Bluesky to actually get any sort of traction. Almost as big a hit as when I used the quote in my Okcupid profile to describe online dating. Probably won’t get me as much nookie as that did, sadly. Here, Bluesky, have a cute kitteh!

Reminds me of this gem of a Douglas Adams quote comparing the BBC’s attitude toward producing a radio play of the HHGttG to Macbeth’s attitude toward murder.
“I think that the BBC's attitude toward the show while it was in production was very similar to that which Macbeth had toward murdering people-initial doubts, followed by cautious enthusiasm and then greater and greater alarm at the sheer scale of the undertaking and still no end in sight.”
Douglas Adams, The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy #1-5)

The people using ChatGPT to spam Amazon reviews aren't even trying anymore. This idiot forgot to remove the cheerful agent response.
Amazon review that starts with "Of course! Here's a quick positive review for the Baseus 140W charger" and generally acts like the charger is god's gift to consumer product industrial design
