I want to stress that this was no one's fault. We just didn't know. Chronic kidney disease is the leading cause of cat deaths. Please get your cat checked. Don't get jump scared like us. I will be using the money raised for the bill and give him a proper burial. Thank you everyone, again.

Beans' kidneys were not responding to IV treatment. He was given a week tops with declining health during this time. We made the incredibly difficult decision to put him to sleep. We were with him every step of the way and he was happy as he passed. We are heartbroken but we gave him two good years.

New update: Beans has been hospitalized. (Good) The vets/docs love him and he's being very good. We will know tomorrow if his kidneys are responding to treatment. Will make an update tomorrow.

Should probably lead with this but, I'm depressed from the news, give me a break. One day of this IV treatment is apparently 600 bucks? Four days for the full treatment is 1000? This is obviously money that we don't have, so again, thank you for your suppory.

I am moving forward with the IV treatment, which will hopefully fix his kidney issues so he can have the surgery. Trying to remain optimistic and I appreciate everyone that shared the post and donated.

This can happen for a couple reasons. One, he got into something toxic and its working out of his system. Two, he's got chronic kidney disease. His current levels put him at Stage 3, out of Stage 4 (that being kidney failure.) We have to hope it's the former, because that's fixable.

As a quick update: We are totally funded for the surgery! But. Bloodwork came back and we can't move forward with it until his kidney levels are balanced out. He needs to be 'hospitalized' for a few days to IV out his kidneys so that he can go under for the surgery. Otherwise, he'd just die.
