Global heatwave days per year, 1950–2025, with El Niño/La Niña overlay Interactive version (view countries, US States, UK regions etc) ... 4billionyearson.org/climate/heat... #ClimateChange #ClimateScience #DataViz #ENSO #GlobalWarming

Data visualization showing global heatwave days per year from 1950 to 2025. Pink bars show the annual number of heatwave days, with a yellow 10-year average rising notably in recent decades. A lower panel shows the ENSO (RONI) index, with El Niño periods in red and La Niña in blue. The chart shows a marked increase in global heatwave days in the most recent decade.

'Jaw Dropping' El Niño just hit +3°C The 'real' 3 monthly figure (currently +1.4°C) usually sits a good 0.5°C lower at the peak. Will the rises continue? SNU forecast (predicted Super El Niño months before NOAA) has the peak at lower than record levels. More ... 4billionyearson.org/climate/enso

An AI model forecast this El Niño as very strong back in April; NOAA's physics plume has since climbed to cross it. Two methods converging. On RONI, warming stripped out, it isn't clear record territory. The AI now flips it to a La Niña in 2027. 4billionyearson.org/posts/the-20...

A very strong El Niño is coming, but physics and AI forecasts agree it isn't a clear record on NOAA's RONI index. The signal, the warming, and the 2027 La Niña.

2026 (Jan-Jun) = UK's hottest first half on record. Yet every month has had less sunshine than 2025, the sunniest year ever. Temp and sunshine have decoupled. I is nighttime warming? Change in weather patterns? Chart + more: 4billionyearson.org/climate/uk #UKWeather #ClimateChange

Two radial charts comparing UK monthly temperature and sunshine in 2026 against the 1961-1990 baseline and 2025 (the hottest and sunniest year on record, shown as a white ring). 2026's temperature line tracks close to or above the 2025 ring, while its sunshine line sits well below it, indicating 2026 has been hotter than 2025 despite less sunshine.
