I'm getting more and more confident in my work again, and I think by the time I hit the painting phases, I should be ready to start producing more art outside of studies again. Keeping high standards for myself is a blessing and a curse...but I lean more towards blessing—I love making things.

Getting into the head drawing phase has me excited. The studies have been pretty enjoyable.

I am truly spoiled...can't go back to making just drip coffee now that we can have espresso at home. It's so smooth 😭

More and more everything else about Fortune's Weave is just...I don't know. It feels like a downgrade from Three Houses. And from Awakening. And a lot of other Fire Emblem games. It's fun when I get to play Fire Emblem...but it's just a drag otherwise.

I really have to treat Fortune’s Weave like Three Houses…and skip a lot of the side content. Skirmishes are downright dreadful. Not worth the time when the main story has so much intrigue. Very good game on that front!

I wish physical releases were still common for PC. I understand why they are not...to a degree, anyway. Certainly, companies would rather you own nothing and be blissfully ignorant of that fact. But Blu-Ray drives aren't common, so that axes a large disc format...and flash media? Sketchy to most.

Some rando on the internet: "FIRE EMBLEM RUNS AT 30 FPS AND LOOKS JUST LIKE THREE HOUSES—IT'S BAD" I dunno man...this game is awfully pretty...and this is the smoothest 30 FPS I've ever felt... Maybe...JUST MAYBE...the turn-based RPG doesn't need 60 FPS. Food for thought 😱

Seeing people tell other artists that it's "strange" to dislike drawing or painting certain subjects is so odd to me. I still draw things I dislike—I'm currently doing still life studies, and I hate still life pieces—but I see the value they provide in practice. Doesn't mean I like them, though.

I think it's even worse that people will subscribe to this idea because obviously the "good" guy in the story will always do the "good" thing... Even if that "good" thing prolongs suffering for those the "good" people don't determine worth considering.

I'm not really SURPRISED that a lot of people would maintain that the status quo is "good," especially the wealthy. The fact that it seeps into our writing, AND readers fall in line with that thinking...it's disturbing. Feels like an audience of nothing but mindless yes men.

So many people have a very naïve view of "good" and "evil" in their media, and it is often seen that disturbing the status quo is "evil." Lack of critical thinking aside...that is a wholly toxic notion, no? That the status quo should never be upended? That change is bad? Kind of horrifying.
