In this scene J.L. Wilkinson delivers John the bad news. He’s closing down the team. Fortunately John has a plan. This new arrangement will lead to the founding of the Monarch’s baseball team and insure the future of black baseball. ⚾ @millcreekent.bsky.social #Monarchs #Baseball #Pitchers #iTunes

A review. “Two thumbs up enthusiastically supportive. Beautiful work Paul. Your film is really something Special! We loved how you saved the best for last, showing those sweet live shots of the man himself in action. Really great work Paul. The subject matter is shamefully unknown, but improving!”

Making this film I could never have imagined the world we are living in today. American history, especially African American history is being erased. I'm grateful I had a chance to tell his story and create a permanent record. Watch, share, spread the word about John Donaldson. #History #Baseball

The train station in Glasgow, Missouri John Donaldson’s home town. It’s remarkably well preserved and you can visit if you ever go there. It’s also the spot where JD lost his father in a tragic incident. You can learn about it in the film. #Glasgow #JohnDonaldson #Baseball #Documentary #Film

In 1924 a gentleman brought out his hand-crank 8mm film camera to capture John Donaldson in action. See the cardboard title card he made, that’s JD on the mound. This is the only known footage of him pitching. See the rest in the film… it’s amazing. #Baseball #Pitching @millcreekent.bsky.social

Black History is being erased from our country. See article. Please watch/share our film “39 Seconds.” The film is a labor of love, an attempt to add to American History. Like Major General Charles C Rodgers, John Donaldson was pushed aside only because of the color of his skin. #History #Respect

Another article about John Donaldson recruiting talent for the Chicago White Sox. John’s ability to connect with young talent at an HBCU was critical to the White Sox organization. The White Sox eventually paid for a grave marker at Burr Oak Cemetery where John Donaldson is buried. #baseball #scout

Minneapolis actor Kiara Jackson plays the role of John Donaldson’s wife Eleanor. For a short time John and Eleanor lived in Minneapolis. He traveled to Bertha MN to play ball on the weekends. It’s a wonderful scene as they work out whether to accept the Bertha offer. #Minneapolis #Baseball #Bertha
