Bird photography is my passion

A patch of dry grass with blue sky behind and a blurred shape running past, a brown striped bird

I was about to comment on the mad lems distortion but on second glance... The lifeguard tower is just like that 😅 Gorgeous summery image!

Too many times, I've forgotten what film's in my Olympus XA4 because it doesn't have a little window. But NO MORE

The back of an Olympus XA4 film camera, with a strip of cat washing tape on it. "Film Love b/w 200 ISO" is written on the tape to help me remember what is inside

We can learn from our queer elders 🫶🏻

bisubites 4h
when my masc lesbian aunt died, women just kept coming, screaming, crying, and saying they were her wives. Eventually we just had to start telling them to join the others. They were all devastated to learn about each other. Except for one who came in, kissed her dead mouth and showed us all that they had matching tattoos. She actually won all the mourning wives over and they all agreed she was the wife. It was so weird.

Did not expect more than a few people to see this but yes it really happened, yes it was insane

Engaging read on how the Bugs Bunny cartoon What’s Opera, Doc? was made. “To get the extra work done, Jones and his crew secretly shaved a couple weeks off other, easier films and faked their time cards. It was something they did on occasion.” [animationobsessive.substack.com]

Why ‘What’s Opera, Doc?’ Looks Like That

It’s one of the really famous cartoons. If you’re reading this newsletter, you’ve probably watched it yourself. After almost 70 years, What’s Opera, Doc? endures.

Dropout TV has lost the ability to save your place on a video, for some reason. Which means my photo gallery is now full of classy pictures of Brennan looking like this

An episode of Dimension 20 paused at 1 hour 19, showing Brennan Lee Mulligan at a very unattractive freeze frame point

The Disney renaissance movies used to look different. They were planned to be printed on 35 mm film -- that's how they were first released. Modern editions skip that last step in the process. It was a highly developed, overlooked craft, as we explore: animationobsessive.substack.com/p/disneys-fi...
