I got a chance to play Monster Slaughter with friends today! I've been looking forward to playing this game for years - it seemed so silly and fun, and I'm glad to confirm it's a really good time! It took us a round to fully understand the rules, but hopefully we'll do another go at it soon!

More spooky comics I've read! Chasing Bloody Mary and String Figures by Darcy Morgan we're a lot of fun. CBM was a delightful spooky mystery that has a very fun twist. Adeline Kon's My Father Was a Good Man was not a comic I could relate to, but I definitely felt the passion in it. Beautiful work.

I just finished this underwater prehistoric style alligator guy. I don't have a name for him yet so that's the best we're going with. I'm not fully satisfied with him but I'm trying to find a nice balance of 'this looks nice on the table' and 'this won't take me a thousand hours'. How do we feel?

Sometimes you just gotta let your players make the dungeon! Yesterday's adventure had players exploring sewers one street at a time, killing plants, setting off traps, and making friends with beholder-ish creatures! The party built the dungeon as we revealed cards to random encounters.

A bunch of sewer tiles are ready for players to use, as they decide which way they're going by assembling the sewer as we go

A deaths eye is found! His name is Marlo, and like in traditional d&d fashion the group befriended him and will now be trying to find him a castle to live in / rule

Teldramir yesterday had an icy cliff, landslides, a fey yeti that was very bad at rhyming, and a skeletal detective doing his best to get the group to safety.

The part is on an icy cliff featuring ice walls designed to mimic the general idea of a home. A large yeti is surrounded by adventurers.

I forgot to share these photos from my last 40k game! It's my first battle where my ENTIRE ARMY was painted so you gotta be super proud of me. I really love my corporate Votann army. I need to do some decals next but after I decide what decals I wanna use across my theme.

Today I played some Doom 1490! Incredibly simple skirmish game that I've wanted to give a go for a while. It's extremely fun. As long as you have terrain with height, the game is extremely accessible.

Tried out the Delicious in Dungeon board game last weekend! We'll definitely need to play it again now that we have the rules down, but it was pretty simple, had beautiful art, and was spoiler free if you've only ever watched the first season of the anime.

I broke out my light box the other day to take minis photos. Its been over a year since I've used my setup, mostly because my last few 'minis' have been too big to fit. I'm loving the way these pillars have come out. Amazing what a little bit of lighting and a nice backdrop can do.

I got my Schierke in the mail today! A final gift to myself using the bonus program from my old workplace. Outside of her being adorablle, I really loved that she comes with the spirit she uses to calm down Guts. I'd love to get some spell effects for her to use in the future.

Today I had my second game of 40k 11th Edition, and my first game against Imperial Knights! They're definitely an intimidating force to fight against, but I managed to secure a victory by turn 4. The real victory is that I only have one more unit to paint!!

The full battlefield of Votann vs Knights. Many Votann units are in transports or reserves.

A knight moves up and the Votann push up to stop them! A lot of great early turn charges combined with lucky shooting on my end!

Several knights have been shot off the field, but Votann board presence was still pushed into one corner. Deep strikes plus bikes helped me regain big points leads on objectives!

The last knight is charged by my Hearthguard, before finally being cut down. Victory!

I've focused a lot on filling my Teldramir maps with small bits that help the surrounding area feel more alive and llived in, but I still need to work on having my encounters feel a little less 'flat', especially in forests or fields. Hills and pleateaus needed! Tips (or sponsors) welcome!

I didn't get a chance to explore too much of TCAF last year, but since I was on the other side of the table this year I got to explore the con with a mission: Find as many fantasy, adventure, and horror stories as possible. I've also been getting more into stationary, so that was my side quest.

The best change I made to the way I approach painting minis is knowing when to say "This is the best I want to do" vs "This is the best I can do". Comparing my work to full time professional painters was killing my morale. Now I say: My work isn't the best. But it's mine, and I love what I've done.

I've been very determined to hit Master Ball rank with Kleavor. Not just in the team but actively kicking ass. I've learned a lot about Pokemon doubles over the past week, and it's felt very good to make it this far without using Charizard, Incineroar, or any other big competitive mainstay.

Today's Teldramir session featured a crumbling mountain, a mean devil, and a bug monster that creates and eats nightmares! The request today was for a monster hunt and between two big baddies and a collapsing mountainside I feel like I achieved the goal.
