I agree. We can't predict what will happen next, and I really hope we can talk more. Perhaps you could follow me; I think we might find it easier to communicate then.

Especially the statement, "Letting them eat cake—that utter ignorance of the hardships of ordinary people is exactly the same."

History often repeats itself in striking ways. Wherever Attila went, civilizations were destroyed and lives were lost. If this truly was "divine will," then such a will is likely to subject believers to suffering rather than salvation.

Grihalwa went all out from the moment he took office, truly living up to his word. Meanwhile, Trump's own backyard was on fire—Epstein's "boomerang" had finally struck him.

Agreed! The identities of law enforcement officers must be public and transparent; this is the cornerstone of public oversight and accountability. Masks not only instill fear but also undermine the most basic trust.

Agreed. These two incidents actually reveal a common point: deep-seated problems in our social operating mechanisms include the failure of oversight of the judiciary and powerful figures, and the failure to respond to long-term, global risks.

Trump on why he wants to sue the BBC: "They actually changed my January 6 speech, which was a beautiful speech, which was a very calming speech. And they made it sound radical." (This is a lie -- Trump stoked up the crowd before the attack on the Capitol)

“A promise of a vote on healthcare” is nothing
An end to the shutdown is in sight. A senior Dem Senator tells me there will be more than enough Democrats to vote in favor of re-opening the government tonight. They’ll get a promise of a vote on health care — but nothing more. Most of the Democratic leadership will likely vote against it.

The big difference between Trump's first term and second is that he didn't burn down a strong economy with tariffs last time around. It's a lot easier for voters to overlook his bigoted nonsense and authoritarian bluster when they feel good about material conditions.
