I guess I have a Bluesky routine - handwork (these socks are not quite off the needle) and books. Robert Reich’s is so interesting and clearly informative to America’s current predicament.

More reading and knitting. Adam Becker’s book explained a lot to me - effective altruists, longtermists.. Who is Government posits public servants as more than trustworthy. I read everything he writes. Knitting with my heart for a new arrival.

Apparently it’s not uncommon to unravel your first attempt at knitting socks.. Try, try again.
Sock cuff knitted, and 3 Book covers - The Shadow Docket by Stephen Vladeck, Stone Yard Devotional by Charlotte Wood, Shameless by Brian Tyler Cohen

My little sign for today’s protest. I’d rather be reading, doing handwork or playing with my grandchildren, but this is something that has to be done.
Pictured is my 8 by 11 piece of printer paper with three words: impeach, convict, remove.

I took my own, amateur shot of some 3-inch, dusty mushrooms. They sprouted atop a banana plant chopped down after the surprise snow storm that hit these parts in January.
Photo of two light beige mushrooms- one about 3inches tall fully upturned. A smaller one beneath with a ball shaped top.

Of necessity, back to books and rug hooking. The epigenetics book is fascinating.
Pictured are the covers of two books: Epigenetics by Nessa Carey and Wayward by Chuck Wendig. Also pictured is the linen backing and pattern for a custom designed rug.

Silly looking adult making a snow angel on her back patio because she can - there’s been an actual snow storm in New Orleans!

EPIC snowfall happening in New Orleans and across the south. Enjoying this day!
Snow covered bird feeder with a sparrow perched while it continues to snow which is only unique because it’s in south Louisiana.Wide girthed water oaks dusted with snow surrounded by tropical palm fronds covered in snow in a place where even a light freeze is uncommon.

This is for all the folks who are posting incredible pictures of mushrooms outdoors that I like so much. I took this picture of conjoined white button mushrooms bought in a grocery store pack. I have no idea how common an occurrence it is.
Side view of combined white button mushrooms.

A good morning for hand quilting and listening to stories..
Needle and thread lay against a quilting project. The fabric is brightly colored yellow, orange, red, purple and white bringing to mind Santa Fe, New Mexico. Two other pictures show the book covers of Haruki Murakami’s The City and its Uncertain Walls, and Charmaine Wilkerson’s Black Cake.

I have a second hand connection to this Gaza pediatrician. He has no time for politics of any sort. He is dedicated to his family and his young patients. That is all. #freedrhussamabusafiya

This came to mind- lichen binoculars

This little hat knitted for my grandchild came out so well! Of course it’s the dyed cotton yarn that did a lot of the work.
A knitted baby’s hat in broad green, violet, orange and pink stripes with a small pink pompom.

It made me feel more hopeful for my grand daughters. It made me want to be a mycologist in my next life. Haha. I was midway through when at a restaurant my daughter ordered fried oyster mushroom. It was a shocker to me and it was delicious.
Fried oyster mushroom splayed in a plate with drizzles of a tasty spicy sauce and topped with parsley.
