Cloud Empress & Alien Zoology. Cloud Empress is a group or solo ttrpg set in a nausicaä inspired world. Alien Zoology is a solo skirmish style game where you play as a zoological expedition trying to capture an alien creature you generate and kitbash, it also has rules for group play.

The modularity of 🗡️🫀 is one of it's most fun design elements, absolutely nothing stopping you from using a class's core and subclass mechanics and doing a simple domain swap if your gm is cool with it. Figured out how to do domain swaps on demiplane for a similar reason, really loved the blood domain powers but didn't have a Blood Hunter concept i was excited about, so I tested out making a pact of the endless warlock with Blood & Dread domains instead of the raw Grace & Dread domains

Finally got around to getting demiplane nexus so I can share daggerheart content with folks that don't have the book yet and build characters with my online players. Fallen down the character creation rabbit hole now that I figured out how to do domain swaps for classes and edit weapon traits.

Played another daggerheart oneshot tonight, this time as a stalwart guardian. First try at tier 3 play, alot of features to recall but a ton of fun. I usually don't play tanky martial heavy classes but unstoppable was incredibly clutch, when I did finally get dropped got a crit on risk it all 🗡️🫀

Got to play in another daggerheart oneshot as a player today, druids in 🗡️🫀daggerheart are so awesome. Was in the powerful beast form as a sabertoothed bear when my little feral shroom druid and the seraph tag teamed and killed the Toad God the cultists had summoned.

Seelie good aligned fae so having them be darker versions of they're old fae selves with adversary features that mirror what a fae of that ancestry or class might be able to do but tweaked to be more villain coded lends alot to the tone of the game.

Was brewing adversaries for my fae realm campaign and I did notice mechanically npcs don't use pc ancestry or class features. within my setting since all the ancestries minus human are considered as fae I like the idea npcs could share some class and ancestry elements that the players can pick from

But yours is a cooler mix of the system and the setting.class abilities as unique to sword&sorc PCs vs the basic human commoner and the heroes in your party and even villains they fight having otherworldly, magical or nonhuman elements to them makes so much sense for the genre.

Awesome port, i dig how its open to playing the nonhuman flavors of the 🗡️ 🫀 ancestries only abit more swrd&sorc. I jumped to the "nonmagic ranger" trick of low fantasy rational behind the features that felt magical for a human centric feel to ancestry features and less whimsical high fantasy vibes.

Would a fungril pc be human? Like some mossy mushroom munching wildman and the fungril network and death connection features are tied to some narrative aspect of consuming strange mystical mushrooms, instead of the standard daggerheart flavor of myconid like mushroom person?

Been meaning to ask, how did you mesh the high fantasy elements of daggerheart with the more human centric sword and sworcery style of hyborian age. Particularly ancestries, say if a player chose to play a Fungril or a ribbit as their ancestry, are they mushroom or frog type humanoids like in 🗡️🫀?

Depends on the details you like, I prefer detailing narrative elements like story threads and beats over the tedious crunch of trying to get a homebrew monster or encounter to feel balanced mechanically in 5e. For me atleast it's way easier to reskin + homebrew adversaries & design encounters in 🗡️🫀
