The other weird thing is people like to conflate a follow-count with an artist's level of skill or prominence, and that's just an incorrect metric. Some of our most skilled and well-regarded colleagues have modest followings online. Developing a following online is a whole other skill.

A drawing isn’t magic. In concept art there’s nothing mystical to it- what it *is*, is a series of minute, specific decisions made line by line, paint stroke by paint stroke, by a person with an expert eye and a point of view. Those decisions matter, the surrendering of those decisions is tragic

tfw when you procrastinate writing fanfic by drawing fanart of your fanfic #wip

the illustration is cropped from its full size.

an older yosuke hanamura and naoto shirogane are sitting next to each other in a tokyo park. yosuke notably has glass now and longer hair. he looks upset. naoto, meanwhile, also looks uncomfortable, as they drink something from a can. naoto's hair is longer as well.

as this is still a wip, only yosuke has lineart, the rest of the image is a sketch.

i think artists as a community should start talking more about "slow art" and delayed gratification because eveeeeryyyyone wants things "NOW! NOW! NOW!" not realizing the best part is seeing the result AFTER you put in the effort
