My hair was getting too thin to keep at shoulder length, so I got it cut yesterday. Not bad, just doesn't feel like me.

Casting a movie, but I'm not telling you the plot. Yes, these are all Sakura Ando. No, I did not misread the prompt.

It's taken ages, but this beautiful vintage poster is finally up on my wall.

Watching The Last House on Netflix which is, y'know, aggressively fine so far, but it's genuinely distracting, even when she's dressed down, how beautiful Greta Lee is.

Vinegar Syndrome order arrived. For reference, the films in the second pic are apparently a loose trilogy by the same director, and Caressed is an alternative title for Sweet Substitute.

An absolute beast of a set. Can't wait to dig into this... and tomorrow is Jackie Chan day on #Junesploitation.

This gorgeous 4k steelbook of Mamoru Hosoda's Scarlet just arrived.

Dichen Lachman is an impossible looking person (complimentary). Are those cheekbones diamond cut? [I'm watching her latest film, Letterboxd thoughts to come]

New image from Band Maid. I try to keep my posts about them focused on the music but come on, just look at them all here.

Random disc from my collection #54 The greatest blu ray set ever released?

Random disc from my collection #53 For my money, the most recent really good Jackie Chan film.

Random disc from my collection #52 A very good heist movie from Germany.

Random disc(s) from my collection #51 Arrow's TMNT 4K set is full of cool stuff.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 25/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #50 This is an excellent series all round, but the 3rd episode features a performance from Sakura Ando that, even among all the great acting, is astounding.

140 4

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 24/04/2026

Random disc(s) from my collection #49 Reese Witherspoon made some interesting films in her early career. Freeway is a serial killer movie by way of Red Riding Hood as a teen runaway exploitation film. Best Laid Plans, a smart neo nor, needs similarly deluxe treatment.

I also have, and recommend, this book.

Random disc(s) from my collection #48 The peerlessly charismatic Meiko Kaji in one of her best roles. The films have less dialogue and get more visually striking with each entry. Pic 3 is the book from the boxset and a dvd of a remake, which I also keep in this box.

Random disc from my collection #47 An underseen psychological thriller, the equal of any of Chabrol's Hitchcockian chamber pieces. My copy is signed by lead Deborah Francois.

Random disc(s) from my collection #46 Following on from yesterday, two more of what I'd consider the very best releases on the 4k format

130 3

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 19/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #45 A great film, and, as far as I've seen, one of the two best 4k discs yet released.

110 1

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 18/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #44 This hard box is from the br edition, but I put the 4k in it. Probably on par with The Beyond for me as the best of the Gates of Hell trilogy.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #43 Never seen this, but 12.5p shrinkwrapped as a charity shop find seemed like a good deal.

010 1

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 17/04/2026

Charity shop find of the day. Been wanting to play this for ages. £2.50 seems like a steal.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 15/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #42 Basically a True Romance (and thus Badlands) riff. This is well worth seeing for an immediately post LA Confidential Russell Crowe and the teriffic chemistry between him and Youki Kudoh, who I wish had done more that crossed over out of Japan.

010 1

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #41 It's...pretty ridiculous that this gloriously stupid and wonderfully bad Cynthia Rothrock movie exists on 4k, but I'm glad it does.

010 1

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 13/04/2026

Been (re)watching ER on Netflix. Very good show blah blah blah... Dear God, Ming Na-wen is one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen.

041 4

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 13/04/2026

Random disc(s) from my collection #40 These Band Maid live shows are probably most expensive individual discs I own, thanks somewhat to postage costs from Japan. Worth every penny.

030 3

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 12/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #39 I have 3 copies of Psycho; the br in the Hitchcock Masterpiece collection; the 4k in the complete Arrow set, but this br steelbook from Germany, which I found in a charity shop for £2, is the coolest edition.

040 4

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 11/04/2026

Nearly forgot this today. Random disc from my collection #38 Good as two of the three subsequent versions are, the original remains the best.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 10/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #37 Among Pacino's incredible 70s run, I feel like Serpico gets passed over too often. Great performance, beautifully balanced direction from Lumet.

030 3

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 09/04/2026

Random disc(s) from my collection #36 I've only seen one of these six films so far, but I need to watch the rest. Mad Uncle Ken is one of the most interesting directors the UK ever produced.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 08/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #35 Great 4k edition of a childhood favourite.

Random disc from my collection #34 Fun little self-reflexive slasher, in a great release from Treasured Films

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 06/04/2026

Random disc(s) from my collection #33 German release boxset of John Carney's musical trilogy (2 of them never on br here), including Begin Again under its much better original title.

140 4

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 05/04/2026

Random disc(s) from my collection #32 Not seen any of these, but they seem like the most interesting of yesterday's charity shop finds.

020 2

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #31 An early, massively underrated, Jackie Chan classic. By far the best film he made in his time with Lo Wei.

010 1

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 03/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #30 Celine Sciamma's brilliant debut. My copy is signed by Sciamma and lead Adele Haenel. This desperately needs a restoration and br or 4k release.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 02/04/2026

Random disc from my collection #29 Both times I saw this at the cinema, the credits rolled to stunned silence. Nobody moved. Go in COMPLETELY cold.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

I'm planning an Action Movies April, so my Letterboxd Top 4 this month is 80s/90s action. I excluded martial arts films, because nothing else would qualify, and I've done that Top 4.

Random disc from my collection #26 Every British kid my age saw the same first 3 anime in some order: Streetfighter 2: The Animated Movie; Akira, and this. I think Ghost in the Shell might hold up best.

130 3

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

Random disc from my collection #25 It's a real pity that Audrey Hepburn and Hitchcock never worked together, but this comic thriller is a wonderful glimpse of what might have happened if they had. Great entertainment.

Sam Inglis @24fpsuk.bsky.social · 28/03/2026

Random disc(s) from my collection #24. I like this film overall, but the scene of Elle Fanning acting as a zombie for the film within the film is where I first noticed just how spectacular a talent she is.
