To celebrate all the recent love for #Hoi and #MoonChild, I fired up @aseprite.org to create some new Hoi and MC pixel art, for the first time in ± 30 years. 😃💚 For the scenery, I used my tiles for the Amiga version, combined with the Windows version's mountains and night sky background.

It was very fun(and time consuming!) to work on his spritesheet Sprites will still be updated overtime to give Spade to be more unique to his characters, but with the current release Spade is finally playable with all sprites covered! There still more to come! Some related to Freedom Planet

I found this pixel art I made in 2022, this is probably the most complete character I've made so far Their name is Eko, it's an alien reptilian soldier of the defensive division. Eko can still throw some punches(and kick some faces) despite being part of the defensive divison #pixelart

I really spent a long time and effort to reach this current design of Eko, and so far I like it a lot!

This are some extra sprites I made for Eko, this would be more or less would they would look like if it was a playable character.
I was planning to make Eko a NPC on Shang Mu Architect(Freedom Planet Academy), a Freedom Planet Fangame I've been contributing, but I eventually scrapped the idea because it wouldn't be lore friendly.

I stopped using the term "pixel-perfect" to describe modern #pixelart games many years ago. Retro-devs who initially came up with "pixel-perfect" use it for a very specific programmatic quality. On modern engines #gamedev create "pixel-consistent" games, they look similar but differ in technology.

So recently a new extension developed by Goomboo for Aseprite has been released (In Open Beta) called Asemulator! This is such a cool thing, it let you play animated sprites as if they are player objects in a game engine, useful to see how the animations behave in a gaming environment! #aseprite

Their name is Dod, it's my dummy character I have been using to test Asemulator!
