#vintage #programming #c This adds a static bitmap background. critically, I finally got my 20 year old code together and it now properly generates a mask that's 1 pixel thicker than the sprite itself. And all that, working with multiple animation frames. All bundled in an E-Z to use function.

The Flappy files were a bit more painful. I forgot about the line ending thing, which was painful to delete for every file of the source folder. But I got the shellgame and flappytoaster to compile, both! I even edited the toast asset with my friend's face and got it to run on my mac plus 2/2

I got to play with those files tonight. Perspective from me, a win11 user: the big .dsk with shellgame opened in basilisk II, but not in Snow. My first move was to create a .hda for it for better transmission to bluescsi and modern emulators. 1/2

I used a website around 2006 that let you upload a jpg and would create a blown up, gigantic set of pdf pages, halftone dithered. It served as decoration in my apartment back then. This reminds me of this.

Today's update, Dark Castle on Steam can now do the crispy pixel perfect integer scaling. See the difference in these screenshots. Oh, you don't know about Dark Castle rerelased on Steam and Apple Store? It's been out for a few weeks. So has Beyond Dark Castle. So has Return to Dark Castle.

someone has recently written the start of a mod player, but kind of abandoned it. there's a thread on it in 68kmla, it can run on Mac Plus and deals with some compromises. Otherwise, the game in town starts with Macintosh Tracker 68000 or 68020 or this Treker thing for 68030. no envelopes.

Master of Orion, 1993 MSDOS game from my favorite era of PC gaming. I love the 2d pixel art in 320x240 much more than the early, awkward 3d era that followed a few years later. Just got the box in the mail today. The disks unfortunately no longer work.
