Summer is lovely and all that, but light streaming into a 4 year old’s room at both bedtime and 5am is not. We treated Charlotte (and ourselves) to a new blackout blind from Blocout blocout.com. Absolutely love it, easy to put up and is 100 % blacked out. £145, but worth it. 👌

My homemade Ginger Bug Ginger Beer is very good. It took a while to get going, left it out at room temp for about 4 days, now in the fridge. Has plenty of natural carbonation, a pleasant ‘funk’ and quite a substantial ginger flavour. Love it! Not too sugary which is good. 🍻

Ginger Bug - Day 3 (sorry, no Day 1 or 2!) Significant change since yesterday, much darker in colour. Opted to grate the ginger today, rather than plopping it in whole or slightly chopped. Topped up with sugar. Fastened the lid fully during the day today and confirmed it is producing gas. 🙂

Some success with the thermal camera. Found that loop 4 of the UFH was ‘leaking’ which explains why a particular area in the kitchen is always hotter than the rest. Seems the actuator valve had slipped loose enough to allow flow. This shows lounge on (1+2) […] [Original post on mastodon.world]
