To be fair, losing those games probably was the best thing that could've happened to her as it taught her the value of playing, being competitive & getting over losses. But it's also really nice to just turn her loose and have her play on a team where the other kids are just as driven to play well

After three years of watching a highly competitive kid lose almost every single game in soccer and talking her down from weeping after so many games, it's been really gratifying watching her play, thrive and be happy on a volleyball team this year that hasn't dropped a single set.

Some real feelings this morning as we send the kiddo off to preschool. She's long since ready, but I spent two to three years as the work from home parent with her from Wednesday to Saturday/Sunday. It's a bit surreal to not have her around and to not have that presence.

Work was acquired by an east coast company who negotiated a sweetheart deal (vested stock/pay) for the outgoing CEO who promised no layoffs and integration. Instead of a yearly bonus they gave us stock in the new company worth quite a bit of money and then laid off everyone just before it vested.
