I visited Washington, D.C., last month and was stunned at the number of cameras monitoring traffic speeds and roadway intersections. My phone’s Google Maps provided various locations of speed cameras. I was surprised how many Washington-area six-lane roadways had traffic snail to the speed limit. I witnessed cars adhere or travel less than the posted speed limit posted on Connecticut and Wisconsin Avenues, especially in Maryland’s suburbs.

But I could not avoid a $100 ticket. I received one in the mail for making a rolling right turn stop at the Washington-Maryland border (the ticket provided an online link with video evidence). Clearly, Big Brother is watching — and ticketing.

In addition to that ... "rolling right turn stop" is an oxymoron. If you were rolling, you didn't stop. If you stopped, you weren't rolling. See how that works?
