let's say that is purely how economies work lol we then get to the second morality claim about billionaires, which is that their very existence as a individual resource class is immoral within societies based on the economic, social and power disparities that they embody - jk an example of this

Well it is certainly a concern what influence you can buy for often relatively small percentages of their wealth. Or even relatively small sums in the case of NZ Although there are plenty of wealthy people who don't use it for political influence

Is there a conflation of morality of how the money is earned, and morality of how it's used here, Simon? Becoming vs being a billionaire? I might have obtained an AED or life preserver morally. Choosing to keep it to myself when it could make a difference would be a different question of morality.
