This seems a big thing too. I was hospitalised with measles as an infant and spent two years there all told. This is a terrible disease, nothing like childhood chicken pox

My doctor thought at first I had scarlet fever and wanted to send me to the fever hospital for Isolation. When they decided I had measles, my mum drew the curtains and kept me in the dark for 2 weeks to protect my eyes.i hated not being able to read!

I had it very young and luckily was able to get past it unscathed. Scarlet fever on the other hand has left its mark. All these diseases are so easily avoided now, it's so frustrating to read these headlines

Absolutely. The doctors thought I would be blind after measles. Luckily I just have poor eyesight

You're absolutely right! Measles can be life-threatening. A childhood illness that should've been eradicated. RFK Jr, not a doctor, giving "medical advice" to take cod liver oil, and Vitamin A/D is killing children causing cirrhosis. Children and liver disease should not be in the same sentence.

My childhood best friend’s father died of measles complications. We were 5 and “had measles”. He died. She didn’t have a Dad any more. Polio came a couple of years later. A little girl disappeared from school and came back two years later with callipers

I 100% agree Diane I did not end up in hospital but measles rendered me deaf and poorly at home after which my hearing was partially restored and I share your annoyance nay my anger at any idiots who trot out the anti vaccination rubbish.
