Laundering the far right into the mainstream doesn’t just happen by bothsidesing (which this piece is also guilty of) but by failing to point fingers or identify how anti-LGBT+ attitudes are central to the far-right - suggesting something’s broadly “controversial“, so no-one’s particularly to blame
Another BBC piece in which bad things just happen, but no-one‘s really responsible: eg it seems there’s an online backlash against Pride events, but by whom? Is it…the far right? Who can say. And some councils are withdrawing support. Again, is this a phenomenon beyond the far right? Truly a mystery
